Not sure what West Yorkshire Fire's policy is, but here in the States if an engine company rolled up on a gate like that, the K12 saw would have been grabbed immediately. The working assumption: the gate is locked, because 99.5% of the time it would be. So by grabbing the saw the moment you step off the engine, you waste zero time. If the gate's unlocked, then you set it aside and stretch the line in while the engineer either stows the saw back on the rig or takes it to the roof if vertical venting is needed. If a truck company is available and arrives alongside the engine company, then the truck company would do the cutting while the engine stretched. Other than that though I see nothing wrong here; the brothers and sisters from WYFB did good.

They got the fire out. As you say it Take courage to go up stairs in an old mill like that in the dark to an uknown fire situation.

@bikerides And that's the important part, is the fire went out, no one died, the building was saved and everyone went home. Not bashing what they did, just noting a spot where they could become more smoother in operation. Ours is a job of seconds, and we can't afford to waste even 1.

I can take a guess and say this happends alot by your calmness, Or are people normally calm in the UK from fire. cause in the U.S. there always has to be a screaming woman.

@Emergency_response_videos We are grateful for the work done by firefighters. Apologies to female members for using the male term in the video. We were at a safe distance from the fire and this is a disused mill. Either a rough sleeper trying to keep warm or children.

This woke stuff is getting out of hand, dont be ashamed for calling them "firemen", the only people who care are the ones who shouldnt have an opinion in society. Just call them "firemen" if that is the term you grew up with, its ok.

@@amazonbox5551@amazonbox5551 The firefighters like to be called firefighters. Let's respect them. I'm not going to get stressed out about it but it has taken a long time to rid football of racist, misogynist and hooligan behaviour. Let's continue that good and positive work with respect.

@@bikerides We have women who work the Job here in the States who use the term fireman or firewoman. Though being called a fireman is a point of pride for us, most who work the job don't care what we're called; we just want to fight fire and save lives.

@Stargazzer811 They all do a great job. I'm retired now but there is improving recognition of respect at work.
