Not the best example of British firefighting, water normally on within 60s but they deployed a larger hose than usual. Being a food shop, presumably they had to determine what was burning . No apparent need for more than 2 fire engines.

Had a fire in my neighbours fire engine came from a place four - five miles away we had station in Abertillery didn't respond the guy died on the sofa.

Called a dynamic risk assessment, A risk assessment that has to be assessed on the hoof, adapt as the situation changes.

BA has to be started up and entry control. You are not going to put water on without BA on with those fire gases

No need for one, Hose reel was deployed outside, to quell smoke and force fire back, Once the acrid smoke had slightly subsided ,then the firefighter can enter, even with BA on, sometimes its not either safe or appropriate to enter a building until a dynamic risk assessment has be carried out and there was no one in situ.

@Joe74854 The first pump only had a crew of 4. BA was only deployed to fight the fire from the doorway until more resources arrived. They did not enter the building

You can see the difference from their fire department and the USA the USA fire department is very aggressive and will attack that fire 🔥. I hate to say these guys are just walking in walking around. Nobody’s trying to get equipment. Nobody’s trying to protect their expose side. This is just sad.

Looks like they rode with 4 on the first pump, unless there's a life threat then deploying b.a. can't be done until the 2nd pump arrives with a 2nd b.a. crew for safety, I think?

normally the uk fire are straight at it with water, no idea why these took so long, you Americans just like smashing and cutting everything up first and take ages to get water going

@@smiley1914 yes. And that’s why we don’t have dozens of firefighter deaths in the UK. We have safety procedures. They’re adhered too.

But at least USA firefighters turn up ready for anything. BA suited, if not used, redy. I'm a surrey/london firemans son and I'm not very impressed.

@@smiley1914 that building is going to have cooking oil, etc... now we know why so many U.S Firefighters pass away so easily.
