Thank you very much. I have to give most of the credit to my brother, The Plastering Guru for this one. He did all the hard detail work 😁

The original render was probably done using keens cement. Sets as hard as granite. Will that one cost render stand up to the constant pounding by the weather.?

Looks great. The original didn't look that bad to me, bit of a clean and touchup but maybe just me.

i initially thought the same but changed my mind after seeing how easy it was coming off especially where the cracks are and most parts were not glued together properly

great job,i didn't see a ginny wheel to get materials up,very awkward working on roofs.

Thanks. A pulley of some sort would have saved some back ache. The materials went straight over the shoulder and up the ladder, rubbish was bagged and carried down the ladder too💪🏼😂

Why are you not just repointing the brick work? How old is it?
@DanLee40
@DanLee40 2 ай бұрын
The brick work was in terrible condition. Not sure of the age but easily over 100 years old. Also the crown needed correcting and straightening.

@DanLee40 If the brick work is to shot to leave, it's probably to shot to cover up. I work in restoration, and covering things up seems to be order of the day. Not hating, but I see this all the time, it won't last.

Looks a nice job. Unfortunately you've used the wrong material. Don't use sand & cement on period properies as you're going to get the same problems later down the line. Use lime or stay away from other peoples properties.

@6:57 bit of brick missing - it wasn't missing until you took a jack hammer to the soft and fragile chimney.....@4:28 is where you knocked it off, as proof it was you. You need to do better and understand that sometime the quicker heavy handed route is not the best route. Next time it may cost you more than the job itself. Rendering was super good but why didn't you correct all the mistakes? like why put a slope on the front lip and not the rear one (so water will sit on the rear one now) and why didn't you carry the lip all the way round - it was obvious the original was a botched job and you could have easily improved on it.
