A builder messed up my chimney stack rerender , the top coat just crumbled off. The scratch cost also has some cracks and is not sound everywhere . Is it better to have all the scratch coat removed and start again or just remove the unsound parts , it gets wild weather , gets very windy here and driving rain. I would like it to last . Also how many hours of labour does it take to rerender a single chimney stack , so roughly how much does it cost ? Thanks

Cheers rock&roll45....4 and 1 with waterproofer for scratch, 5, 1,1 (lime) with waterproofer for top. 👍

It would be really good to have these ratios and your product brands highlighted ie, why use plastering sand and not building sand? First time diy'ers, like myself, need spoon feeding but otherwise a very helpful video, thank you.

@@plasteringguru572 Does 5,1,1, = 5 sand + 1 cement + 1 lime? If so, why add the lime? And why not keep the same mix as the scratch? (I am guessing the scratch is the strongest)
