Save me from myself I call out
But no one hears my plea
Burn my candle fast from both ends
Nightmares grow from dreams
You don't know, you can't see through my eyes
So you don't know me
You don't know what's going through my mind
But can you help me
Save me from myself if you ever really cared
Save me from myself, tell me you're not scared
Intensity that grows within me
Reflections of my pain
I'll create or I'll destroy
But either way it's always in my veins
You don't know, you can't see through my eyes
So you don't know me
You don't know what's going through my mind
But can you help me
Save me from myself if you ever really cared
Save me from myself, tell me you're not scared
Save me from myself, if you ever really cared
Save me from myself, tell me you're not scared
Save me from myself, if you ever really cared
Save me from myself, tell me you're not scared
Save me from myslef, if you ever really cared
Save me from myself, tell me you're not scared
Save me... from me... x5
Save me....x 2
Save me... from me
Save me....

You can hear from the clarity of this song that Dime slowed down on his drinking and was making some of the best music of his life. It's really sad that he didn't get to keep on keepin on. I really would have liked to hear what he made as he had gotten older. Slow or fast. I'm sure it would have been beautiful. :(

Why cause theres no grunting and growling? Pat is actually singing? The only people who kiss Phil's ass are those who think he's cool and tough. He hasn't been good since 1996. I went to the GSTK concert in 97, and Phil couldn't even sing all the lines, he skipped verses cause he was so winded from smoking. If growling and grunting is your thing then listen to Kyle Thomas, the guy Phil completely ripped off

Rebirth112 That cause fans of pantera wanted pantera. They couldn't accept a new sound. Pantera was thrash metal and groove metal while damageplan had a more modern metal sound and still had that groove metal in it! And with the panter fans thing im only talking about some of them.

I've listened to New Found Power numerous times and I think Damageplan was shunned because Pantera had built an empire and people didn't know how to accept the fact that the temple had fallen. Honestly though, I guess I kind of understand why people would say this sounds Nu-Metal, but i don't think that should have anything to do with its overall artistic merit and production. Dimebag was, is and always will be a legend. He seemed like the coolest guy and I would have sold my soul just to play a casual game of pool and shoot the shit. Not even an exaggeration, I think about his murder and the impact it's had on so many people every day of my life. It's just extremely unfair that things like that are allowed to happen. Dimebag pulled me into metal when I listened to Pantera's 9th and final album Reinventing The Steel (say whatever you want about that album, it wasn't their best but it still kicked ass) and I couldn't get enough Pantera from then on. I was only about 12 and I'm 18 now and Pantera has had such a monumental impact on me that it's entirely impossible to describe. I would like to live in a world where I didn't have to say this but, R.IP. Dimebag.

+philip whitehead i guess i got what you mean, but, its not just B open tuning that makes this song similar to primer 55 this life. HAHAHA. I remember what happened when i heard this on the radio for the first time. It was back in 2003/2004 maybe, I was doing it with my girlfriend at the time... Yes, i'm a romantic. I'm french. anyway, song finishes and I stop everything and focus to hear what the name of the band is... No mention and another song comes. I jumped out of the bed, wrote save me from myself on some paper, and went back at it. I took me a few years to find that song again. The outro riff left me wanting more, and I was arguably doing one of the best thing a man can do... so that's how good that song is.Sex stopping good. 7 years since your death buddy, and you still influence the hell out of me and other guitar players more then ever! You had brought something to your music and leads that overated bands like A7X and all that other shit can never have.....and thats mother fucking soul! You spilled your emotions out on the fretboard for all of us to hear, It is one of your greatest gifts to us. The Floods solo and ending brought a tear to my eye. True beauty my friend. This album is quite exceptional. It’s a perfect blend of everything you want from the Abbotts. Punishingly heavy and yet full of texture. Brutal and groovy. Southern at times. It’s all there and every bit as good or better than a pantera album. The songwriting is better than before and there are hooks galore

Vinnie is impressive and a drummer with power and groove! These drummers you mention are not power drummers but play a million bpm,and who cares about it? But the most important thing here is the work Vinnie and Dime do together on all songs they play on. That, made Pantera and Damageplan so good.

When Dime was killed, I was deployed to Iraq. Found out during a call home. Talk about a kick in your gut. I was so devastated. I've seen Pantera play 5 times prior to joining the Marine Corps. Was and still is my favorite band ever. Grew up listening to them, even had 2 cassette tapes before Phil joined and recorded Power Metal. Dimebag didn't play guitar..he was the guitar! All that music was already in his body, the guitar was just a vessel to transfer it through the amp for the world to hear.

Picture this. Your car stereo pushes about 10,000 watts RMS to four 15 inch subs that was put where your back seat used to be. You're blasting this song on ten. You're on a long stretch of highway with no other cars in sight. Your foot has the gas pedal pinned to the floor while the speedometer is tapping past 165. An hour later you end up three states west. You pull into a truck stop to get something to drink. You realize you just witnessed heaven on earth. And you're temporarily deaf with a big ass smile on your face.
