I make a Damascus steel blade out of 300 sharp calligraphy nibs and powdered steel.
Thank you all for your support in the comments. I'm still relatively safe. Today is the 466st day of the war.
Tea: maui mango, mango pineapple herbal tea.

My other channel: / cossackforge
On my patreon page, I began to explain the processes and secrets of my work. Topics already covered:
1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.
10. In what liquid do I develop the pattern on the blade.

Ah yes. Way back in 2001 my art teacher introduced us to calligraphy. She let us pick the pen and ink we wanted to learn with. The pens were all stored in cups with the nibs facing up so they don't rust after cleaning (they were never clean due to it being high school). I set my wrist on top of a set of nibs to go through the cup of pens next to it. When I lifted my hand an extra fine pen nub had impaled my wrist. It didn't hurt so I pulled it out. Later while I was washing my hand I noticed a black dot on my wrist. It wouldn't wash off. I still have the black dot to this day though it's quite faded at this point. And that's how I got my first tattoo.

I got stabbed in my thumb by a friend with a calligraphy pen about 12 years ago now. Since its on the palm side youd expect it to fade, but it never did.

I have a similar “tattoo” on the left leg. My sister and I were fighting and she grabbed a pencil and stabbed me with it. She was 6 and I was 7. So now I have a permanent dot of gray on my shin. It looks kinda blue nowadays, but it’s still there.

The flower pattern in this one is really unique; I think its good enough to warrant perfecting for a product line.

A lot less than you think, considering most of it was done with a machine, and all of it used to be done by hand

I've missed your videos and I'm so happy to be able to see this one. I started a new job and it keeps me so busy. I don't often have time to enjoy the simple pleasures. When I do get time, like now, you and your videos are the first thing I search for. I have grown attached to you and I am so happy to see that you are alright. I truly wish we could meet or at least speak thru other means. Stay safe

I recently got back into fountains pens after not using them since the late 1960s. A cheap fountain pen is so much more rewarding than a ballpoint. You can make an infinite number of colours if you are inclined and the inks I like have at least 5 different blacks let alone other colours.

I have a theory, Dmitry is such a master craftsman that he made a long Damascus ingot with the smiley face built into it and slices it for the end-caps just to amuse us all. Always good to see another beautiful creation from you!

I do calligraphy as a hobby, so seeing the nibs go into the billet made me cringe a little inside - but I trust that they're in the hands of a master and I was not disappointed! The resulting pattern looks like it was drawn by an expert calligrapher! Both your process and your results are works of art and very relaxing to watch. I wonder if you could share links to the tea also? Please be safe! Much love to Ukraine 🇺🇦 from the US 🇺🇸!

That's amazing. I love that the Damascus made from pens nibs has a Damascus pattern that looks like it was drawn on with a pen. It really reminds me of my doodles with a dip pen.
