Particularly impressive, especially given that 1981 was a rather challenging year for Jones vocally speaking. The Trovatore aria here is just astonishingly fresh and gorgeous. Thank you so much for ferreting this out.

Always fun to hear Dame Gwyneth sing things apart from her usual repertoire. She isn’t always entirely successful, but she’s an enthusiastic participant.

Trovatore and Butterfly were usual repertoire for Gwyneth up unto around the end of the seventies. Czardas is of course very UNusual.
