My favorite Joan Collins story is about when Joseph L Mankiewicz was casting the film Cleopatra. It had come down to either Joan Collins or Elizabeth Taylor for the main role, and both actresses had done a 20 minute screen test for the role. Joan tells the story and says, “I wouldn’t sleep with Mankiewicz and didn’t get the role, now I’m not saying Elizabeth Taylor did, but she got the role and I didn’t” Classy, classy, lady.

I love that she just keeps going. Keeps doing the same one woman show - just changing the title to fit whatever exaggerated autobiography she’s currently hawking. Still pops up in legit acting gigs every few years and constantly doing interviews. An absolute icon.

I recognize Joan's jacket from the spectacular 4th season. I've been re-watching it. I did not have time to watch the show when it first ran in the '80s, but I was right in there with the fashion. I still have a couple of similar jackets I love to wear. I miss fashion.
