@nalday25343 ай бұрын
True, which is why his eventual babyface turn was seamless. I love that they incorporated some of the elements of his real life story into his title reign. Like his first Title defense with Jey, he tells JD to stay away and that he has to prove that he's not transitionary champion and that he's here to stay but they don't. Then he faces Drew and gives a tremendous performance following that botch, but couldn't prove yet again due to Punks animosity towards Drew. Then next is Rollins and he wovs to finish this on his own terms now then Drew cashes in and then Punk again interferes and when the match is over, Priest makes this split face where you could tell that he's relieved to retain his belt but also so deeply unsatisfied because he hasn't able to get a clean win. And then at summerslam when he finally unleashes his full babyface mode, he makes Gunther bleed lmao and just when he's about to prove to the world by almost beating the most privileged heel in WWE right now he gets screwed over by his "brother". What a helluva story. Even through his unsatisfactory wins, they told a great story and build his character upto high levels

The man is a reliable hand in the ring. Unique skillset and surprising mobility for his size. His title run was good not great, the botches are fine because we all know he has legit in ring abilities. His run post judgement day will define him most. He can be champion someday again or future Rumble winner. He is a made superstar now, he did that. Damien Priest and WWE is a great fit. 5-7 more years of his career with success. Could cement HOF status, he’s that good as a pro wrestler.
@mastrorj683 ай бұрын
I didn't like him at all. I just thought he was a b level talent and just nothing about what he was doing excited me. I can't tell you exactly the point of when he won me over but I think it was after he won the title so pretty recent. I don't typically just jump on a bandwagon because someone is champ now. In fact, quite the opposite. I even thought they think by giving him this title that that's just going to make the fans like him more. And the title didn't make me like him more there was something about what he was doing how he handled himself and in my eyes he quickly became one of those wrestlers that doesn't need the title to be relevant and impactful in the business. And that's saying a lot when you think about it.

We both trained together in the Monster Factory in NJ, and I knew then that he was going to be a WWE champion because he was positive, cool to be around, and a hard worker. He had the it factor that so many people that are on tv today don't have now.
