I would take that thing everywhere, despite my family's protests (it being a giant hug and what not), and I almost forgot all about it until now. 2 decade old memories flooding my head right now, and I'm kinda sobby now. what you said about the g1 reissues rings so true to me; i just got into collecting early last year, and trying to get decent g1 figures is a bit of a hit-or-miss when you dont live near a good retro shop. being able to pick up a hot rod or a starscream in that lush 80s packaging just down at the local store is honestly the most incredible thing to me because it means i can experience what older collectors must've felt when they were 6 running along the toy aisles looking at such amazing things. nobody says you gotta buy them, but it's a perfect thing for a fledgling collector like me.

16:20 Styracosaurus is still a valid species (well, genus). Some specimens have been reclassified into a similar-looking dinosaur called Rubeosaurus, but Styracosaurus is still pretty much unchanged. Ceratopsids are sort of always being reclassified but the really big controversial one is the belief that Torosaurus is actually a fully mature Triceratops and Triceratops as we know it is an immature animal. However, most experts disagree and think Torosaurus and Triceratops are two separate genre.

The fact that Soundwave's toy came with Buzzsaw instead of Laserbeak never made sense to me, since Buzzsaw was only in the cartoon for a few seconds in like 3 episodes. At least Masterpiece Soundwave came with Laserbeak...

Heeeyyyyy I just bought that reissue Hot Rod, I never had the original as a kid just Rodimus but I always wanted regular Hot Rod because I love his design. It feels so cool to buy it all this time later. I had a ton of Rocklords when I was a kid too but not that one. I had the main bad guy, a two headed dude, a rock dino animal guy, the leader of the good guys, two nuggets in both gold and silver and some others.

Ayyy, RiD Grimlock! He was one of my first figures, nice to see him getting around. For claiming to not know how he works, you got him to bot mode almost perfectly. There should be two ports on his back on either side of the combiner peg that you can put the digger arm on, it should raise up over him almost like a scorpion tail.

That Scarab-looking Beast Boy is a real McDonald's toy and I got him at a Thrift Store when I was young. He's legit. I also had a terrible Scorponok that only moved the arms out to the side a bit and the legs folded in to the body or stood up. Absolute crap but I was happy.
