It pays to remember the times is which this video was shot. It was the height of COVID before the vaccines. Dedicated film crews were nervous yet willing to risk voluntary exposure. It was still uncertain how devastatingly lethal and contagious this virus could be. LP was safer interacting with a horse than fellow humans, hence the ‘wild west theme’. In scenes filmed with other people in close proximity there were precautions put into place: distance, working air fans, masking on the film crews, etc. It’s easy to forget these inconvenient hindrances as we gain distance from those times.
