WOW Classic - Warrior Best in slot (BIS) guide for phase 3 & 4 for the casual guy. (No boe's or pvp)

WOW Classic - My first best in slot guide for warrior fury dps for phase 3 & 4 in WOW Classic.
This guide is based on the "casual" player that doesn't have a ton of gold, nor time on his hands.
So the items are picked on the basis that you do not have to rank in PVP or farm exalted reputations with anything - but you do have to be lucky that the loot drops and you win/receive it. :)

Please note if you as a non-orc want to use axes - you should get this item:

That way you only need 6% hit with axes and you will receive the glancing blow penalty.
Same goes if you want to use daggers - you should get:

You say that non-human warriors should go for maladath: this is not optimal, because 304 weapon skill gives you 0 % extra chance to hit, so you would still need 9 % hit from gear. Also the reduction to glancing blows damage reduction is less than if you have 305 weapon skill. As a non-human, you can get edgemasters' to reach 307 weapon skill, and at that point getting +4 from Maladath is a very very minor improvement. Therefore, human warriors should ideally get Maladath, since that gives them 309 weapon skill which is a big dps increase.

Hello there Axel, That is definitely correct - but as mentioned in the guide, it is based on NOT buying any boe's or pvp items. If that wasn't the case yes going for edge master's as a non human would be the best - and getting brutality blade over maladath would be around 18 dps increase in a 1-minute raid fight without worldbuffs. :) Btw 304 weapon skill still adds 0.8 % chance to hit and reduces glancing penalty from 35% to 19% to glancing blows - but 305 is the breaking point and you definitely benefit a lot more from that (4% glancing reduction and 1,2% hit more) - but when that option is not on the table then it is like this. As for your question - if you use fightclubs spreadsheet assuming you're an orc with 6% hit, using Crul in MH & Doom's edge in offhand 1177 dps versus Deathbringer in MH & crul in OH is 1169 dps in a 60 second fight. (with my gear) So there's a 8 dps difference in a one min fight - I believe the reasoning behind is because of the Doom's edge having raw stats that stack with zg buff =). Do you know anything about crit cap? from what i have gathered, because of the way the hit tables work, you don't get much value over 30% crit. unless you stack more hit to push things like dodge and miss off the hit table a little bit. I really want to optimize my (dwarf)warr. I have a lot of different gear with hit and/or crit. i can very easy get + 6 hit (got edgemasters). Fx I got HoJ, Blackhands breadth and DFT as trinkets. atm. i use Blackhands breadth over DFT because i'm hit caped without DFT. would i benefit more from DFT even when i'm already hit caped? Hope my ramble made sense :P classic can be confusing stuff.

Hey bud, For sure - but you gotta remember crit cap is only your white hits not your yellow attacks :) “*What is the crit cap?* There is a cap on how much crit chance your white attacks can benefit from. This is due to the attack table adding up to 100%. Your crit cap is 100% - Miss Chance - Dodge Chance - Glancing Chance + Crit Suppression. Basically you can increase your crit cap by getting more hit chance, which is why hit chance has more value when you’re crit capped. Being crit capped usually only occurs when you’re fully world buffed and using consumables.” And because of the lower miss chance when heroic strike is queued you should not get more than 6% hit (if you have 305 weapon skill with current weaps) us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/off-hand-swings-with-hs-cleave-queued-dont-suffer-dw-miss-penalty/309417 So get that and focus on Str > ap > agi > crit in that priority after your hit cap. Hey buddy, Yes according to fightclubs spreadsheet crol shorukh will do more dps in a one minute fight. Gotta remember that your white dmg is a big part of your dmg too prolly the reason why. See this log for instance: classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/L7NdVhT8MZBKXFn1#fight=26&type=damage-done&source=46 Around 30% of my dmg is white hits so the higher dps = more white dmg. :) Hoped that helped you!

Hello, I'm a fury orc warrior on whitemane. I'm useing DB MH, Cruel in OH. I have all the gear listed above minus pants( useing the blue leather drop from sillathis.) And am missing the DFT and useing flask for bosses and HOJ/ 2% crit trinket for trash. Unsure which other trink is better for dps along with flask for bosses, 2% crit or 2% extra hit and AP. Also useing both MC rings, accura and quick strike. And crit gun instead of strikers mark. I'm wondering if there is a stat goal out there I should be aiming for that could help with which items to prioritize with what's left to get. Like, base stats at 30% crit, 1k AP 6 hit. Right now standing I'm at 29+ crit in zerker stance, and 1100+ AP with battle shout up, at 7% hit. There is a ton of BIS list out there but I cant find anything on what base stat numbers I should be sitting at. If other items give the same or very close to same stats with a different mix, than should I just save my DKP for AQ 40? Or burn DKP for the (BIS) items if I'm already getting the same stats with different gear switched out. Maybe even a gear stat couculater where i can fiddle with different items to see what my overall stats would equal? Thanks in advanced. -Androx

Hey bud, Thanks for watching - hope you enjoyed. Well if you're worldbuffed (with Songflower, dm buffs + Onyxia as a minimum) you should use Hand of justice. When you're not worldbuffed you wanna use blackhand's breadth. Your stats seem pretty great - what you can do since you're an orc using axes only 6% hit cap because of +5 axe skill from racial. Is that you can try to get down to 6% hit cap if you get more Str, ap, agi and crit from doing so - if not stick to the gear you have. For instance if you're using don julious + nef ring atm you could use quickstrike ring over don julious which would give you more ap and reduce your hit to 6%!. Your stats prio is like this: 6% hit cap > str > Ap > agi > crit. Also make sure to check out fightclubs spreadsheet on their discord - there you can simulate what items you should be getting next and what would be the biggest dps improvement. Hey bud, thanks! I do not have a spreadsheet for it - but for head, legs, beavers and gloves you should buy green +healing items. For neck plus chest you wanna go strat ud. For cloak and belt get core hound belt and hide of the wild. For weapon go brd and get +55 healing - for offhand get av exalted. Trinket you wanna get briarwood or second wind. Ring you wanna get from LBRS and the “ in dreams “ chain quest. That’s most of the pieces :)

Hey bud, That's a very good question. Personally i'd try to get a sword/mace in my offhand aswell to utilize my racial and therefore only need 6% hit and get that reduced glancing blows penalty! Otherwise what you can do is get this helmet: classic.wowhead.com/item=9375/expert-goldminers-helmet That way you will get your 6% hit for offhand (since +5 weaponskill = 3 % hit for the specified weapon) - otherwise just get 9% hit in total - but getting the helmet would be the best though since it reduces your glancing blow penalty aswell on your offhand. I don't get why people stop at yllw hit cap. I get there's always a 1% but wouldn't having as much hit as possible especially since I see so many warriors using super fast daggers. The faster the swing time, the more chance you have to miss, due to swing time being multiplied by the hit chance. I can see why you'd only want so much hit, before it effects how hard you swing but if you use a slower weapons you have a higher chance to hit automatically. Do you not miss that often as a human with mace/sword, when at 6% to not make the other hit chance worth it? Just got my warrior to 60, so I just don't know honestly. It's like when people complain about someone with a 2H getting HoJ. The proc chance is multiplied by the swing time to even out the odds. (4 second swing = 8% chance) but on top of that it can only proc so many times per minute. After testing it on 2 toons and watching dps meters closely, hoj procs about 12-15 times AN HOUR. Making up to be 1-3% of your total dmg. It's more worth it to just have static stats imo to make it so you're always getting an extra 4-5 dps. (+10 dps being the norm for every 5-10 levels.) So you'd be attacking as if you were lvl 65+, or get a 2% chance per second limited to so many procs per minute. Plus with very little chance to miss you can be hitting the target almost at all times, with a little bit of dps increase (through stg, agil, or atk pwr). Gaining rage to dump into more abilities and your main dmg (auto attack) goes up significantly. But again I don't know, that's just how I've logically laid it out for myself. Something else I've noticed is that crit has a cap, that isn't shown due to agil being calc'd as a true value. I found myself not criting as much as possible with about 20-25% and have gone to 40% crit before. There's a VERY slight difference, as in maybe an extra crit or 3 per fight but that's about it. Also a pure crit build seems to do the same dmg as a pure atk per build, just not as consistently obviously.

There's no point getting more than 6% hit with 305 weapon skill with the weaps you use - since with full world buffs you will be spamming HS 90% of the time = yellow attack which will consume the majority of your white attacks if you play it right. Plus with HS/cleave queued your miss chance will be reduced to around 9% with white hits - so its just not worth it to only improve 30-40% of your overall dmg (white hits) versus getting str that increases 100% of your dmg. Well - crit cap only affects your white attacks not your yellow attacks =) And with worldbuffs you will be using Heroic strike 90% of the time = yellow attack so you get less and less white attacks in if you play it right.

Right - so i've had a look at it. When you are raiding you wanna be using mirah's song in offhand because sword skill increases your chance to hit with your offhand + reduces glancing blow penalty on white hits. Also you do not need more than 6% hit while raiding if youre using swords in both weapon slots as a Human. Outside of raids (where you dont kill +63 elites) the core hound tooth will grant you higher dps because mobs are lower lvl. I hope that clarifies it for you ? :)

So this is incorrect for non humans/orcs u never want to get maladath because u will not be using swords. U will be using DB and Crul. Or CTS and CRUL. With that being said u will be using either Edgemasters or just flat 9% hit from your gear. The difference being that u will have a better glove slot giving u more crit and AP if u dont use edgemasters, but u will also not have to use as many hit heavy items to reach 9% with edgies. As a rule of thumb you should never aim for having 4+ weapon skill. U want 5+ as a minimum and shouldnt care for anything higher than +8 as this is ''glance cap''.

Bad video tbh. All races except human + orc need edgemasters. Aswell the BiS is wrong tbh. Way to wrong! And white dmg isn't a large amount of ur dmg, only white dmg is ur off hand at this point!

Hi Louis, Thanks for your feedback - you clearly didn’t listen to the first 40 seconds of the video :). First of all I clearly state in the title plus in the video no boe’s or pvp items are included. Secondly I state this is my perspective. Last but not least I’d say 25 % is a big amount of your dmg. Please refrain for incompetent comments when you haven’t listened to a word. @@DamnboiTV First of all, i'm rank 50 Warrior world. Well even without BOE's sacrificial gauntlets etc. is better. The list is bad. Ur not going for the conclusion of 6-7% hit < AP Etc. It's fair it's your take, but for an example Deathbringer is BiS Mh with Crol in off hand. It's not an incompetent comment, it's indeed something that's true! Aswell, fallen crusader legguards isn't even on horde :O?

Good for you bud - doesn’t really change the fact that you don’t pay attention before commenting. :) I do make the conclusion that 6% hit is only required as human and orc with swords+maces/axes and 9% hit for the remaining races. Seems you once again didn’t listen... According to fightclubs sheet it all depends on what buffs you have - sure deathbringer is best in main hand until you can get crol in main hand and doom's edge in offhand :) Take a look at the sheets yourself. (~10 dps more that way in a 1 minute fight which most fights are now anyway) Regarding legs that’s a mistake on my behalf which is mentioned in a comment below aswell.
