Mac there are so many ways that damp can strike across the cavity...through stones that tie both walls together on victoriana houses, blown in insulation (which is being vacuumed back out these days) and one that really pisses me off is when lazy window fitters sweep debris down the cavity causing a way for damp to get to the inner skin! Atrocious behaviour! Mind you window fitting isn't exactly a time served or apprentice trained skill is it! But some lads have sense and standards and unfortunately a lot haven't! Anyway Mac, what do you think of the damp proofing inserts? You know, the ones where you drill a series of holes 4inches apart and push them into the holed and fill over the end. Are they any good in a cellar as well as above ground? I'd love to know your opinion. Also could they be used along with tanking? I'm a 'belt and braces' kind of fella if you know what I mean...I double up on insulation and roofing membrane etc... What do you think?
