As a jazz composer, I stay up late in the night writing on my old 1948 Baldwin spinet. The piece I’m working on is probably the most “gorgeous “ in terms of sonic personality! It totally embodies what I was after in both Lyrics and melody!! But, it took over a year to hone it !!! A tender sonnet… or even a lullaby- ish motif made famous by Roger’s and Hart back in the day. Like you sir, you labor and toil over any and every idiosyncrasy to achieve the closest to perfection the moment will allow. Bless you for your secret dedication to this essential craftsmanship!!! Doing so with a mask no less!!! Your utter love for people and your art ( enforcing this medium)shine completely through!!! Yes, I’m a year late with this comment, but ….. I think I speak for our musical forefathers; Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Sondheim, Metheny, Bernstein, Gershwin ect…..who all depended on the( Joseph “ )of their time ) to assist with the phenomenal body of work they gifted to this planet!!!!! As sure as heaven exist…. they all bow to you sir…… ( minus Pat Metheny who is still very much alive !!!!!….. lol …..and … they would all… like me….. subscribe to your wonderful channel!!!!!! Composing these ballads brings me to tears often……and….. even though I’m in good health; turning 67 next month,… it would be an honor to know this current ballad: ” LAILA “ written for my 14 year old grandniece may survive for centuries to bring untold joy to others!!! This will be my debut album coming around Christmas… if I’m stay on course… lol ….. ( stage fright detained me for decades)! However, …. It’s becoming…. manageable. Like you….. it’s not about the sales… it’s about THE SERVICE!!! TO HUMANITY! Thanks again for you and Ms. Urlacher excepting your “ calling “ to this world of sheer wonder!!! Again I say…. We ALL call on you, ……….. to take….. your needed, necessary, well earned, …… and quite OVERDUE……. BOW!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO……. Your life…. Like a classic tune……… is WELL PLAYED… WELL PLAYED INDEED !!!
