Dude, ur 1st reps look so questionable to even try for consecutive reps, but ur ability to grind is just ridiculous amazing
@Druid519 жыл бұрын
it also depends on how you approach the set. if you know you are going for 6 reps or more you might want to pace yourself, if you go balls out on the first few reps you'll have less energy for the rest of the set

Dan Green the Beast!! got me into Sumo style Deadlifts not doing that much weight lol but it's coming along I found out quickly no Muscling up weight with Sumo like Conventional
@larrymasterspowerbuildingc44779 жыл бұрын
+Samuel Everett I just started sumo this week, too. i pulled 500 on Dec. 4th for the first time, and thought, hey why not throw in sumos as part of my new cycle? i put on 350 after my conventional workout thinking, hey 70% at sumo is gonna be a breeze...couldn't budge it...put on 320, got some directions and after 3x12, 3x7, 3x8, with 320, i had to quit for the day. my assistance work would have to wait for my lower back to be fresh again. i was bummed but it was for the best. Damn, that 320 gives me deep respect for DG and other lifters puling that astronomical weight! tonight i threw in 225 x 10, 5 off of 3 inch blocks just to work on form after squatting. I don't feel as stupiderest now. can't wait to learn how to tap into my sumo muscles!

Not really familiar with safety bar squats. Why are they so much harder than a regular barbell?
@Perpetual_Eden9 жыл бұрын
Josh0 more difficult staying upright
@ironw68069 жыл бұрын
Its sits higher up on your back and your hands are on the handles so you can't really push up with your hands like a normal squat they are the shit dude really great

Why are safety bar squats more difficult?
@gregchuchelo72489 жыл бұрын
Stevo-Fernando maybe its got to do with slightly different mechanics and bar placement, also arms positioned a bit different. dunno. also Ive never seen Dan squat with one before, so maybe he's just not used to it yet
@FiestyPikachu9 жыл бұрын
Bar much higher on the back. Almost an extreme high bar squat which forces you to be very upright. If you tip forward theres only one place the bars going and thats on your head.
@Jonbobwing9 жыл бұрын
Stevo-Fernando also, find a picture of one and notice that the ends of the bar are bent which, when you stack weight on it, makes it try to rotate forward, really forcing you to try and stay erect.
@Stevofxx9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the replies!
@lewismoore20379 жыл бұрын
It's almost like a front squat. It's sits high up on your neck which pitches you forward and because the design of the bar, it sits almost in front of you putting alot of emphasis on your abs and quads aswell :)

Do you ever train without knee sleeves Dan?
@raketsteffe8 жыл бұрын
+Lee Potier Theres no good reason to
@jiujitsuboy8 жыл бұрын
Why not? Surely the more raw the more strength is built, you're not relying on the sleeves giving you a rebound, so when you go back to them you're stronger and better, no?
@raketsteffe8 жыл бұрын
Lee Potier The thing is it hurts to squat completely raw, these weights are not to play with
