Crazy this team was slept on all year until February everybody was talking bout Purdue and Kansas but nobody was ever talking about how dominate UConn was throughout the season
@jeromedanielson44225 ай бұрын
Because they sneakily come out of the Big East, which always gets disrespected, comparatively. People don't understand because of the diverse playing styles in the Big East UConn is more than prepared to play anybody out-of-conference. UConn nationally plays one of the toughest out-of-conference schedules. In the last two years, they only lost one game outside the conference, to Kansas by four points.

I'm a Kentucky Fan, and no, I wont pretend that we could steal Hurley away from UConn for any amount, you can tell the guy loves his current job! However, Hurley isn't just the coach Kentucky needs/Wants, he is the coach that EVERY team wishes they had or is striving to be in NCAAMB IMHO! Anyway, Just really came to say congrats to UConn on their 2nd Nattie title Win in a row! They've been on fire for quite a while now! I was rooting for them after KY got shamed by the 36 year old sniper Gohlke!! Just glad its not Duke or Kansas cutting down the nets!

UConn basically just let Edey get his and shut down everyone else. He had 37 of their 60 points. He got no help because UConn took away his help
@cedrickcarson5 ай бұрын
Yeah Braden Smith had 12pts and 8 assists. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say all 8 of those assists were off Edey scoring lol
@jmoney21965 ай бұрын
Last night just showed how much of Purdue’s offense centered around Edey. Purdue’s guards are average at best, and if Edey wasn’t able to draw 2-3 defenders every play, Purdue’s guards were never open for a shot. Purdue’s guards relied too heavily on Edey in order to be good.
@cedrickcarson5 ай бұрын
@@jmoney2196 would you say recruiting is everything for Purdue specifically? Or do you think they should find some one and dones and mix em with the vets returning next season? 🤔
@jmoney21965 ай бұрын
@@cedrickcarson Honestly yes, I think recruiting might be more than we think for Purdue. I don't see them being anywhere near where they were this year going into next year. Losing Edey loses so much of their offense and good defense is only going to carry them so far.
@lnss87755 ай бұрын
@@jmoney2196 avg at best but were the a top 3pt team this season? The offense centered on Edey n the guards. Edey was the first option cuz he draws double teams n when triple teamed the guards were the 2nd option. Hurley had a great game plan not focusing on stopping Edey n instead stopping the guards n outside game. The players executed it perfectly

@BlyGuy4 ай бұрын
UConn has transcended the blue blood conversation and in its own unique category. 6 titles in 25 years and 6 in something like 16 tournaments played is unprecedented success that only Duke can sort of compete with, but still have one less that Conn. People like to argue that UConn hasn't been consistent like the other blue bloods, but I don't really count the AAC years. No coach was going to keep Uconn in the mix for titles in a crappy new conference with no rivalries, no tv money. The 2014 title was their first year in it and all Big East recruits.

The similarities between the the womens and men’s champ game is uncanny. Iowa and Purdue lost because their best players got absolutely no help whatsoever. UConn and South Carolina won because they play basketball the way it was designed to be played, as a team.
