I was at the game first half is always slow start not how UConn wants to play but if you seen them play the last 2-3 seasons they play harder faster dominate the opponent second half always. Sport psychology is crazy they lower the moral of the opponent in the second half only way they can cover. Watch back to back slam dunks and you’ll see the moral of the other team fade away it’s the only way to be the true HUSKIES! They missed their first nine or ten 3s that were all good looks, it would have looked a lot different if 3 or 4 of those went in.

Also working out the kinks with Mahaney, he's a great player but going through some growing pains because it's a completely different system and expectations .. he's showing a bit of hesitancy between his shot or looking to pass... It will come as he understands his teammates and how they move on the court...

This issue with point guard play, as Newton first experienced was ball pressure, setting a high ball screen freed up the offense right away. This hasn’t been happening. Opponents had learned to pressure the point to slow down and take UConn out of their offense. Keep setting the high screen, it starts the offense and creates immediate mismatches. Mahaney just needs this to start feeling comfortable. This will allow him to execute his own offense as well as penetration, finishing with drop off or floaters. Starting the offensive set with the screen also allows multiple defenders to switch and create open space for jumpers.
