Finished last place in division with 6-10 record. No playoffs 2024 49ers team has more in common with 2020 49ers. Lose again to Chiefs in Superbowl with a double-digit lead. Decimated with injuries and playing bad football. Losing record in division and conference. Have a brutal schedule in the final 9 games. Both Rams and Cards have tiebreakers over 49ers, and both have easier schedules for the rest of the season.

As a Niners fan, I can say Kimberly is wrong. Our division sucks and no one is willing to bet on the Cards or Rams. Home field doesn't matter when we have been fighting injuries. We have made the NFCCG as a 7th seed. Yes, we are behind the 8 ball, but we still have the ability to control the division and host a playoff game.

The point is that no one is running away with our division at the moment, and the winner is guaranteed a home playoff game. The only games that will be a spotlight would be the Lions, Cards and Rams. The Lions are an unstoppable force rn and its gonna take a tremendous amount of work to even get the win. Numerous injuries have took their toll on the 49ers but they continue to fight through them. We’re just arguing the definition of “must-win” when every time Kyle, or any HC, always says “every game is a must win”. Because that’s the objective of the game. To win. Are they eliminated if they lose? No. But sooo many occasions in the playoffs, we look back on a random week that ended up being a decisive week.
