Oooh and he is taking about the parasatoids or however you spell that where it lays eggs in other insects, the larvae eating the other insect in a way that keeps the insect alive until the last bite! I’ve read about those in Jean Henri Fabre’s books! The merit of keeping it alive is keeping it from rotting, he wrote! Fresh food!

Watching Dan light up with excitement when he's talking about bed bugs and other weird parasites and animal penises... it's so adorable and weird and I like it! Craig is great as usual, really listening and matching Dan's humour and excitement!

OMG YES!!! I was waiting for this compilation! Watching Dan Riskin being interviewed on a separate video was actually what introduced me to the gold that was Craig Ferguson in the first place.

Yeah, i though that i was drunk or something because i'd seen Evangeline Lily for a moment... but no; i'd seen her and yeak k.. i'm a bit drunk... but it did happen!. This interviews are a proof that you can know stuff science and still be very funny and joke about the most common things that at least we (in Spain) use to joke about with our friends; a good hour of fun.

I befriended a dude who was dirty and not the most hygienic. He ended up giving my apartment bedbugs. When this dude talks about bedbugs it haunts me. It isnt easy to get rid of them and they somehow keep coming back even if youve cleaned every corner. But when he talks about they get in your head psychologically he is not lying. You will think every red mark is a bite, every itch is one...its insane. There is no weirder feeling than the day you put it together and you realize you have them. They even smell when you crush them. Oh and btw, idc if its your favorite family member or your bestfriend for 30 years...it will forever change your relationship with whoever gave them to you. I no longer talk to the dude bc it ruined a new mattress and box spring I had (they leave marks)...and im not someone who can be a willy nilly and buy new expensive things like that.

A guy who goes by the name Coyote Peterson has a KZbin channel called Brave Wilderness in which he traveled around the world, getting the same insects that Schmidt did for his pain index. The difference is that you can actually see it being done. Also, there's a new TV show with two guys basically doing the same thing, but with even more species. The difference with this show is that instead of using Schmidt's #1 - 4 pain scale, they rate them from #1 - 10, in four categories for a possible total of 40. The question I have is, who is crazier, them, for doing it, or me, for having the morbid fascination that makes me unable to tear myself away from watching them?! 😂 BTW, that's a rhetorical question, I don't need an answer. EDIT: I almost forgot - Coyote Peterson has a new TV show coming up very soon (finally!). I can't recall the title, but it's on one of the nature channels like National Geographic or Animal Planet. Enjoy.
