You’re doing fine work. I bought my first 57 a BelAir four door sedan at age twelve and finished my first BelAir Sport Coupe at age 19. I’m 64 now and still love them. Thanks for identifying these cars by their correct names. So many call them two door posts etc and you’re doing the right thing to help educate the next generation as to what the manufacturers really called them. And do anything you can to avoid cutting up those sedan deliveries they are so rare. Precious Metal.

Dan, really enjoyed your video, so I subscribed. It is an impressive collection of tri fives, and I'm interested in following your work on them. They are classic and iconic, a true American workhorse from a special time in history. Solid vehicles built to last. Always had a special fondness for the deliveries. Best regards.

I can hardly believe a collection like this that is not owned by someone eighty years old or something of that nature. Its a no brainer, subbed immediately and will be watching close as the pieces fall together. I don't see a reasonable reason to fix a few of them as its really more work than fun, almost torture to do all of it. I am a seventy two year old man who pulled wrenches all my life on something... mostly heavy equipment but still the same done a few builds of this kind... no harshing me but every one in the town I was raised in was a chevy person so I went fords an won a lot of trophies, turned some impressive speed sets but divorces got in my way of keeping a nice one plus I went to Nam to come home to see all my cars and stuff I had built since I was around a eleven or so, dad had a shop and I started as a grease monkey for him on his logging equipment and there for found I could put stuff together... my first was a shoebox an then my collection of 55 through 57 fords and a lot of them as no one liked fords. I bought a grandma car that had almost made the wrecking yard an these kids were really hatting to do that but they needed it off the street. I told one of them I would at least look at it and could not believe how nice of shape its in.... I told them money for me was near nothing so they countered me by saying " ten dollars" and I never second guessed, said sold an had to find a way to get it back home about seventy miles and get back and drive mine home so they let me park mine there, I put the key in the ignition an it ran so sweet.. sure it was a four door but with only twelve thousand miles what do you think... it wasn't all roses as it had sat and the tank was nasty so its a fight to get it all the way home. I am sixteen barely so you know that car was eight years old an perfect shape... not trying to one up you here but we all have a story... That rockcrusher trany you got is more than the cost of the rig you bought.. thats a deal once in a lifetime.

Will a 1957 Chevy station wagon frame fit under a 57 Chevy bel air 2 door hard top with out any modifications?
@DansTriFiveGarage Жыл бұрын
It will physically bolt into place but a hardtop has 2 extra mounts that a wagon doesn’t have, it’s a very easy fix though, you can actually buy those frame mounts that weld onto the frame to convert a sedan/wagon frame to a hardtop frame

Amazing Dan! I just subscribed. I can't wait to see the work. I will watch the other vids also but please show the work and process you do. My 12 year old son and I want to find a 1955 2 door to restore together. We have yet to find the car but will look until we find her. The condition of the car we are searching for would be about what your project car 1955 hard top is. I want to learn as we go and build her with my boy to give to him, and hopefully he will pass it on to his children, and so on. I lost my 17 year old daughter to cancer in 2010, and want to build a car with my son, in her memory. It will be a slow process for us but that is fine as he is only 12, but I am hopeful that we can finish by his graduation in about six years. You are the type of owner of these that I enjoy. You truly care and understand the value in them, and the family involvement is part of the value. Thank you for sharing these with us, and I will continue to follow the videos. It is great to see there are many more following this one so my son and I can binge watch them! lol! Quality G rated viewing!! LOL! Take care and be safe. Blood, sweat, tears and Gears, Rich.

Check the floor in that window Delivery. Look for mounting holes in the floor near the drive shaft tunnel. That will tell if it came with a bucket seat. Most came with a bench seat. And Chevy made the window Delivery from 1955-1960.

Holy cow on the 57. Last 57 conv I knew of at $1000 was in the late 70's and it was a stripped shell with no floors. The trans I believe is out of a 72-73 Camaro. The shifter is an ITM which is the stock shifter for a 72-73 Camaro. There should be a number stamped into the passenger side of the main case at the rear. P3R25A = P=Muncie Heavy Duty 3- (model year) R - (month) 25- (day of the month 01-31) A - M20 (B-M21 C-M22) There could also be a vin number 3Nxxxxxx. or 3Lxxxxxx
