I loved that you did a Dan Vasc reaction video of this EPIC rendition and masterpiece, Black Wind Fire and Steel!!!! The songwriter obviously wanted to be sure the listeners could NOT forget the title of this song and so it is sung 1,000 times, lol! 😂 Where the song perhaps lacks in some lyrical creativity, Dan makes up for it in an overload of brilliant vocals!!! Luis is a BEAST on the bass!!!! Dan’s epic finale is a mind-boggling, jaw-dropping, standing ovation-worthy display of Dan’s breath control, but also vocal stamina!!! To hold a metal scream of this quality, duration, and power, is unlike anything I’ve seen before!!!! The Vasc always impresses and inspires all those who have not only ears that hear, but hearts that do as well. Great reaction to this incredible performance by Dan Vasc. That last note he held for 30 seconds. What lung capacity he has! Thanks so much for featuring him again on your channel. To see another side of Dan, check out his full on opera voice in Nessun Dorma. It is jaw dropping and even highly trained vocal coaches have raved about it. The changing looks on your faces in that finale. Lol. I remember doing the same the first time I heard this. If I recall correctly, Dan met Luis after doing an Angra song in tribute to former lead singer Andre Matos after he suddenly passed away. (Dan admired Andre & studied his falsetto.) There are videos on KZbin of Dan joining Luis Mariutti and Edu Falaschi (who replaced Andre) in a later tribute to Andre. Dan really shined trading verses with Edu on the Angra song "Carry On" & working that crowd. I sometimes go pull up my favorite video of that performance. Loved your reaction... glory claw & all. 😊

I actually don't think much of this song (too repetitive, I think), but between the great bass playing by Luis, and Dan's incredible loooong scream at the end, it's - well, EPIC! Leave it to Dan to fix the song, right? I enjoy watching and listening to you two. More Dan, please.

I just read the other day, that Eric Adams is *still* belting out his record golding note that Dan matched beautifully. Eric is now in his 70's & still touring. I see why Dan admires him so much!

Sometimes Dan plays tribute to the original artist, like with this song. Sometimes Dan reimagines a song & makes a better. There was no way in hades to make this one better, without perhaps omitting a few of the too repitive parts. He left it the way Eric Adams sang it. The fact that Luis didn't miss a beat & ended the same exact time as the original, proves Luis's admiration is right up there with Dan's, IMO. Remarkable skills from all who performed this song. But, i must say, i need to have a word with the songwriter who loves repetitive lines. Wonderful reactions, btw!! ❤

That's exactly how Joey plays it in Manowar, but he plays with a pick, which makes the pizzicato easier. BTW, the original album version also ends on a 32 second top note!

I was told by another reactor who did the timing of that wicked scream he said after 5 times of the recording the time came out at 34 seconds, nearly impossible to do, but not by Dan he and Luis were epic in this performance!
