Hi Jeremy and Jillian! Dan sang American Trilogy for his father who died of cancer. His name was Roberto. Anie's husband was called Robert. Same name and they were both Elvis fans. And Robert loved Dan. He and Anie called Dan. "Our Danny boy ". Very emotional, sensitive and beautiful. Thank you for your beautiful reactions. ❤ Rio-Brazil

You have just heard the softer side of Dan. I love hearing this side of him. He can definitely sing any ballad he chooses and it will sound amazing. Sometimes less is more and staying close to the original, you can’t go wrong. Loved your reaction and all the comments! 🎶🎶

Beautiful voice, tribute, and song. Dan sung this so tenderly, so honestly, so beautifully, that it doesn't matter if it's an Elvis song or not. With that said, its unbelievable how close to E he was. Lovely reactions!

Most people think of spectacular singing and fireworks when they think of Dan, but he always sings what the song requires. This is so heartbreakingly beautiful - simple, emotional, and expressive. His father was a big Elvis fan, and Dan sang An American Trilogy (no metal) in his honor just a few days after he died. He's Brazilian, by the way., and his native language is Portuguese. He sings in English almost flawlessly, and speaks English fluently but with a charming accent. BTW, he does have quite a few ballads, non-metal rock covers, folk songs, musical theater pieces (like The Music of the Night or the Gethsemane scene from Jesus Christ Superstar), and even an opera aria on his channel, all sung fantastically well. And tons of metal to knock your socks off too, of course! Thanks for doing this reaction. I look forward to more Dan.

Thanks very much for watching and for the nice, helpful comment!! We learned a lot, including Dan is Brazilian (we haven't researched his background). That explains the accent - I (Jillian) thought for sure Italian! I agree, you'd NEVER know he has an accent based on his singing - perfect English. Appreciate you letting us know there are other ballads; so far, we've covered six of the heavier songs. Here they are if you are interested. Thanks again!! ❤️🥷🏻 kzbin.info/aero/PLYrkTp-j9yalDvP1mPLH030p9htmuhtkv&si=_rYWe7vELjjH-vhv

I would love to see your reaction to Dan’s An American Trilogy, Elvis cover. He released it five days after the death of his father as a tribute to him. It's very beautiful and emotional. He does an amazing job singing despite his grief. Thank you for your reaction.

Thanks, Jeremy and Jillian! I think he sounds a lot like Elvis on this particular song. Elvis was messing around on the video you watched-he was usually more serious when he sang it. I’m glad y’all liked it! Although I love his hard hitting metal, I’m a sucker for “bad boys” being sweet and tender. I think his command of English is amazing and his Brazilian Portuguese accent is just a bonus! I certainly am not fluent in another language!

"Glory claw" and "face melting" expectations... gave me a chuckle since you're reacting to this cover. Dan does have his moments where he stays true to the original for whatever reasons he has; this is one of those times.

❤ Dan puts so much into every single song he sings... Elvis was his father's favorite... . his father died not long before he recorded this... he did American Trilogy by Elvis in memory of his father... heart breaking... This man is hard to describe.... he is beyond awesome... wonderful... amazing.... etc.... etc.... he was the whole "team" on most videos producer, etc. etc. One of a kind. Bravo Dan... they are all winners ❤

His dad died just days before he recorded An American Trilogy; that one was the tribute to his beloved dad. This one was later and done especially for Robert and Annie.

No. You said that his dad died shortly before he recorded THIS song. He recorded An American Trilogy October 9, 2017; he didn't record Love Me Tender until March 19, 2019, quite a bit after his beloved dad's death.

Great reaction to this song! You definitely should check out his An American Trilogy cover, if you haven't already. It's great, but be prepared: it's also very emotional.

You must really try An American Trilogy, done a few days after his dad passed. His dad was an Elvis fan, but be ready that one is really emotional, he also has a playlist of folk songs he did, also very good to see another genre he can do brilliantly.
@RickcandKai9 ай бұрын
Also try Bon Jovi's "Always", on Orions Reign channel "Thunderstruck", GnR "Sweet child of mine", close your eyes and listen how near his voice is to the original, a lot of the folk songs is the same. Then to the phantom songs for his stage presence, kiss from a rose, Poker face, hello and others where he actually, in my opinion, made the song better, black wind fire and steel, where he holds the last note for at least 30 seconds, and Burn butcher burn, where he hits you in the face and smile about it.

@@andreadee1567it’s no problem at all. Music is subjective. I don’t expect everyone to like my music. I just put something there that is pretty neutral, that we can talk over without it being too chaotic or distracting. At least that’s been my hope. Of course my music won’t be for everyone, and that’s ok. Don’t feel bad. FYI….ive been considering changing it anyways. There will always be some sort of music on the intro and outro…but this song has been there for a while now. May be time for something new anyways. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽

He's obviously a considerate person, has a nice voice, but he is often off pitch in this kinda flat performance. He is not at all close to Elvis, totally different tonal qualities, Elvis' voice sounded like a finely tuned woodwind instrument when performed this. Elvis is comfortably in pitch.

Dan was born in Italy, but moved to Brazil as a baby. His native tongue is Brazilian Portugese. You can hear an intro with him speaking his native tongue in Heart of Steel. He sings in many languages; not sure if he speaks them all.
