Everyone there has had to prove their worth before even signing and you are fighting someone who is the same size as you are. One punch can be all it takes to put someone to sleep. We’ve seen upsets all over the UFC. Strickland v Adesanya, Nate Diaz v McGregor, you could even argue Edwards vs Usman. No one is too good to lose a fight.

It’s why he protected Jones from Ngannou. Bro took 3 years to move up and was suddenly ready after Francis vacated. That said, I thought the UFC was about giving fans what they want. This is a very possible fight, Jones said he’s regularly at about 240 & pereira walks around at 235, they are both over 6’4, absolutely no reason that this shouldn’t happen in 2025 if Dana greenlights it.

You know what, thinking about this from a business perspective, that would in fact be a terrible move. If jones loses, there goes his career. Hell be yesterdays news. But if Alex loses, there goes his potential stardom. He’ll lose a lot of momentum on his rise to fame. Those 2 are some of the biggest names in the UFC right now. It’s best to keep them separate for now. Maybe later when they start to lose some steam, then you put them against each other to boost their careers.
