The song scene is always iconic 😂😂 Also my fave eps are Sydney one(I got to see them film a scene actually it took them so many hours & it's legit like maybe 1 minute of the start of the ep😂), Disneyland & the one where they're all on devices like laptops, phones on FaceTime & text it's so cool they did an ep like that. Who’s my favorite character in Modern Family? You haven’t met them yet, but they’re coming. Among the main cast, it changes with the seasons and episodes so since you’re watching season 1 my favorite main character in this season is Cam and in this particular episode it’s also Cam. Favorite episode? I don’t think I have just one episode that’s my overall favorite, but like each season has several that are definitely my top go-to episodes to watch. This is episode is one of them for this season and you’re close to another episode that’s a favorite rewatch of mine. Whenever you commented on Deedee’s statement about moving to French Canada I really thought you were about to say “France” as your example. I love that you subverted my expectation and said Cardiff and Edinburgh instead! Great reaction and commentary!

So this isn’t relevant to this specific episode but it is worth mentioning since you mentioned the casting. Julie Bowen (who plays Claire) was seven months pregnant with TWINS when they filmed the first episode. This class is a different level of dedicated. All of the main cast stays throughout the whole series too, which is quite rare nowadays.

The actress was Shelly Long, who shot to stardom playing Diane Chambers for the first 5 seasons of "Cheers." Her character's relationship with the character of Sam Malone was one of the great will they/won't they relationships in American tv history.
