Don't know how much you returned to this song after the initial listen, but this was always my go to relatable song when dealing with breakups in highschool when it comes to the lyrical content. Such a great song and album

I found Dance Gavin Dance through another channel and I was a little on the fence about them. I like fusion bands or bands that don't conform to a specific genre but for my first few DGD songs I just couldn't find something that grabbed me. That was until I heard Carl Barker. As a guitarist of 27 years, this is such a technically amazing song and has elements of jazz, funk, pop, rock and metal. It's an amazing song and this was the song that had me jump off the fence and into the DGD appreciation group

For you next DGD track check out Spooks off the album Downtown Battle Mountain II. Features their original clean vocalist Johnny Craig, and even a few funky verses sang from their guitarist Will Swan! It really shines as one of their best songs they've ever written.
