I know that the joke is that's kind of the meme thing to say, but that part actually did speak to me. Not necessarily lyrically but the fact that Jon mess is still trying to push the boundaries of his screaming and what he can accomplish with it. Between this and synergy it seems like he's really trying to see what boundaries he can push in terms of the rhythmic contribution his screams can add

Jon's parts are amazing, this man outdoes himself with each song, it's unbelievable. Tilian and Jon are the best vocal duo, hands down and every single member of the band is amazing at what they do. This is the song I was looking for. Synergy was such an amazing first single. And while I love Pop Off and the music video, it has a similar structure to Synergy. This is the one that has me needing this album. This is the one that has me thinking this will dethrone Mothership as the goat for me. Tilian sounds incredible, raw and full of emotion. Jon spitting some of his best work here, what a sick breakdown. The highlight is of course that this has Andrew written all over it. The second verse guitar riff changing but still imitating the first verse. And the bridge/outro is so haunting and smooth, I wanted it to go on longer. This is DGD at their best. After everything that has been going on, I couldn't be more grateful this album is still coming out. For Tim

Dude, eidola meets secret band on this one. I can tell Andrew starts off on guitar because those tones are just so recognizable *inserts pacha meme* Lyrically, this one hits heavy. Especially with what’s going on in the band. It’s literally like tilian is writing about himself completely in the singles so far. And I definitely feel like this is another mirror album, like mothership, ArtificialSelection and afterburner, this one’s going to be heavy. Tim’s bass lines seal the tone of the song as well.

@@frankhungtw so if you think about it, ALL of dgd’s music if for the listener to interpret for themselves, I’ve sat with the 4 I mentioned and it literally feels like I’m sitting in front of a mirror, being called out by the music and lyrics to every song, being held accountable in it all. And if you think about it too, eidola is a very spiritual band, and nothing to do in the religious sense but more of the practice itself. The way Andrew plays, is like sitting with “god”. Being exposed to truth in the sound of mathematical notes, tones and resonance. Tilian’s second verse kind of describes him only being able to tell the truth in the form of song and the last 4 albums, he’s written from personal experience/s. I also feel like this song is about his ego death.

This is absolutely my new favorite DGD song. I love Tilian’s vocals SO much. I am so proud of him for getting help and I really hope he gets to continue being part of the band. I can’t imagine them without him, even though I know Andrew could fill in just fine as he will on their headlining tour in place of the Coheed tour. Amazing job, boys. We love you all so very much. And Sir Mess, you are a freaking king.

@@FrankRiver2000 Because there is no real validity to the statements at all. If he denies the events in the way she is telling them, which he has, then why wouldn’t they go a bit further to at least discover the validity? Ask her to take it to court? Come out of anonymity to them? These are completely anonymous online accusations. Tilian admitted to sleeping with her, and that is the ONLY aspect of it to be known as true. Her retelling of the events could be completely embellished. It doesn’t help that she lied to him from the very beginning about being a fan of the band. Tilian doesn’t want to date fans, but nobody wants to give him that credit. She was a massive fan of the band and lied to him from the start about it. That’s such a huge red flag that EVERYBODY is ignoring in favor of blindly destroying his life and career.

My cat had a blockage in his urinary tract and we were told yesterday he wasn't gonna make it and were handed euthanization forms and basically the nurse said it was a 5% chance his kidneys would still function and cost over a grand to try and save him. I couldn't give up on him so we signed to try and he went from being unable to move more than his tail and blink yesterday to sitting up eating drinking and hissing at the nurses. His urine is getting cleaner and everyone seems more optimistic he will make it. Nowhere near out of the woods but when this dropped today I started fucking bawling my eyes out. The timing on this couldn't have been more perfect

@@Polyfire I'm so sorry to hear that. It's like the mother of all gut punches. I hope your fur baby recovers. I'm extremely thankful because my bubby is coming home today. They told us his kidneys are functioning and filtering out toxins again and yesterday evening we were able to get him to eat and drink water which is a HUGE improvement from the first day where all he could do is blink at me and move his tail slightly. The vets said the amount of potassium in his system from no filtration should have stopped his heart but he fought through and clung to life when nobody believed in him. My wife had picked up the pen to sign the eithinization forms two days ago and I freaked out and wouldnt let her and here we are two days later and he's coming home!! I'm literally not even upset that we have to feed him expensive wet food for the rest of his life little king deserves it for fighting through.

Great song, great band! Seriously top 5 in my bands list, right up there with Rise Against, Gojira, and BMTH. We had a good run with Tilian, despite the events that happened, he is a vital part of the success that is shared by all band members. He's a human who fucked up, but his contribution to the DGD discography is not to be put down or ignored. I believe everyone can be redeemed, including him. DGD had come this far, only time will tell how much farther it will go. Best underrated band of all time.

Keep in mind he's not out of the band, yet. Unpopular opinion, but I think with proper therapy and work, Tilian will stay in the band. Does it feel good saying that? No, of course not. But it doesn't change that he, far more than a certain previous example, has been accountable and willing to make changes in his life. If Johnny of all people was allowed to be in the band as long as he was, I feel like it's only fair to wait and see how Tilian does out of therapy. It can't erase the things done, and I'm not saying to forgive him, but the pure fact is he fucked up, he knows he did, and he has become a huge part of this band. He is substitutable, but I feel like much less replaceable, if that makes sense. It's a heartbreaking realization and doesn't taste good ever considering, but I have faith in him rising from that. Unlike some who would sooner become more and more detestable and horrible with time.
