Yes, absolutely true and the more I listen to the introduction on Gimme Shelter the more I see this is true. It's as if MT is telling Mick Jagger it's time to shut up. Notice too how the bassist and the drummer never let up on the beat when Mick Taylor kicks in.

Thanks to Mr Berry of course, but this "live" version (I read somewhere that it was cleaned up in the studio) just chugs and becomes airborne. You gotta dance!!! I don't know where Mick Taylor comes in on this particular song as Keith certainly knows his Chuck Berry riffs; but as a group unit performance, this song takes the cake.

Mick Taylor was the reason why I picked up the guitar. He was never flashy or played in a rush. He felt every note and took us on a journey. He vocabulary in his playing was unmatched. I will always love the Stones in all of their music, with Mick Taylor they were at a higher level. Many people say he was underrated, very true. How can he not be, he was with arguably the greatest rock band of all time. To me he was never underrated, but in reality he was. He never got the credit he deserved. He’s not even a millionaire, that’s uncanny. Jimmy Page is the other favorite of mine and is regarded as one of the greatest of all time. Two fantastic rock bands, one having the rock star status, the other just in so many of our hearts. I’m happy that today, there are so many Mick Taylor fans, we know he was one of the best. Thank you for the solos of 73’ me like so many, have played this so many times. Music never dies and maybe on day Mick Taylor will get the credit. Thank you for the video!

We are blessed with loads of great bootlegs of the Stones from this era. So that means loads of opportunity to hear how much Mick T contributed to the sound of the Stones. The Stones were the greatest band ever between about 1969 and 1973/4. Guess why.

I've been listening to the Stones since I was 15 years old, today at 70 I don't go a day without listening to them, even if it's just one song, and my modest opinion is that their best sound was when Keith, Taylor and Wyman joined, plus a great Charlie and Jagger logical.

His contribution to the Rolling Stones , specially during concerts, was never matched again. Remember Mick Taylor was only 20 when he joined the Stones in 1969 and as Jagger would later say (after Taylors departure from the band) of Taylor's contribution to the band: "I think he had a big contribution. He made it very musical. He was a very fluent, melodic player, which we never had, and we don't have now"

In 1972...when I was 15..... I used my cassette tape player to record the Stones off the radio from the "King Biscuit Flower Hour"....I listened to that until the tape broke. That's where I 1st really heard Mick Taylor. Just SO good and melodic. Almost TOO good for the more "street sounding" Stones. The solo on Heartbreaker still resonates in my head and almost brought a tear listening to this again.......Thank you

Never heard any of the famous guitar players of the 60's & 70's mention Mick Taylor. Not even one word. ? I think I know why they never mention him, and their silence speaks volumes. There has never been a more gifted guitar player than Mick Taylor, and they all know it. Very cool that people are still acknowledging his formidable skill, and his prowess. He was a very talented and gifted young man, and I don't believe he has been bested. I love to listen to all the greats, but to me, they { all of them }, finish behind Mick Taylor. " The people, they step back, when a young man walks by. "
