I am there! Em to B7 and vice versa are simultaneously dropping pretty much all the time. Am to Em not quite there yet. But I am sure will not be much longer. Hoorah.

Not been able to do much learning this last month (although I have been regularly playing), but hope to start the New2Uke Plus lessons tomorrow. So I thought I would run through the last few songs of the basic course just to remind myself where I had reached. Very pleased with the transfer between these 3 chords, though still not perfect at this speed.

Regular playing has advantages, so never apologize for not working on learning.

I went back to this song today. I don’t know it so I stayed away from playing it. Then I I heard one of your “Super Hero’s” day,” Don’t just play the songs you know if you really want to grow!” That’s been haunting me during my practice time. So here I am just listening to you sing and getting familiar with the lovely song and tone of your voice! Guess what is stuck in my head!m?! Another ear worm! 😂 but now I will be able to play it! Thank you so much!

Oh no! Not an ear worm. You will be so glad you did, every time you push yourself. You have accomplished so much already.

Couldn't get the simultaneous dropping of the fingers today! Until I realised that I need to have the uke strap holding tightly from my neck. Then no problem, including the Am to Em. I am now wondering if that applies to other difficult changes too. Will try that.
@TheUkuleleFool2 жыл бұрын
Yep - straps don't help if they are too slack. I am so proud of you for all the learning you are doing. Can't wait to hear you play again at one of our Patreon jams.

Another Work In Progress. Should we be changing the 3 fingers simultaneously or consecutively? Please say consecutively! It does mean that it takes me a beat before I get a true Em from the B7 and vice versa and may be with practice simultaneously will come. But it’s not there yet.
@TheUkuleleFool3 жыл бұрын
Elaine - sorry simultaneously, or pretty darn close to that. Do some mental ninja practice. Do 10-15 seconds of visualizing that happening several times a day. Kinda twitch your fingers too -feel those three fingers applying pressure, lifting up, moving together as a team half an inch over and putting the pressure down again.

Lisa, please check your link for the chords for this song. I think it is incorrect and I cannot find the chord chart on your Patreon page. Thanks!

@@TheUkuleleFool your link is still incorrect. It needs the second "u" in ukulele!

Mary Jane - Hmmm that's a head scratcher. I clicked on the link from the updated New to Uke guide, and it sent me right to the post. There was a dialog box that asked me to approve downloads from patreon.com. I am not sure what you meant by the missing "u" . I am so sorry this isn't working for you. I will send you a copy via email.

Elsabet - so glad you asked. It is from Survivor Girl Ukulele Band, one of my charitable projects. An amazing woman goes to India and teaches ukulele for 6 months in a rescue shelter for victims of human trafficking and forced prostitution. She doesn't sell them online, but I have some left from the batch she sent me. I will send you an email with the photos. If you are interested I can send you one and you can pay me via Venmo or Paypal.
