I fully understand that not everyone is going to agree with the things my mum is saying, hell, I disagree with most of the things she said in the 2 videos with me. But, I will not hesitate to delete any comments that are downright nasty towards her. I draw the line at people calling my mum or myself fat, and that being a reason she can’t be a dance teacher. With all due respect, you don’t know my mum’s background, in life or dance, and the things she’s been through. Some of the comments she made were wrong, but that is no reason to be as rude as some people have been. I’m sorry for putting this here but I needed to say it.

@@heiyyyyy3 I don't think she was rude...people who are not used to korean culture make comments that are usually harmless in other places but not harmless to koreans. If you mean her talking about their dance moves it varies from person to person. Me being an ARMY I love their moves and everything. Meanwhile her mom is giving a view of someone who isn't in to kpop and simply as a dance teacher...I didn't think she was rude at all. Everyone is allowed to have their opinions

I don't want to sound mean and I don't mean this rudely at all, so please don't take it that way! But I get the feeling your mom is more of an old school dance teacher. Nothing wrong with that, at all. After all those are some of the best technique teachers in the business! But I get the feeling she's kind of out of touch with some of the larger and more popular choreographers that are coming out these days. When I was in college (dance major) a lot of this style, especially Fake Love, was already becoming rather common. So stylistically they're really on trend for whats coming out nowadays. Even with the incorporation of African dance in Idol. Also, you have to always keep in mind that when they perform live, they also have to sing. The choreography highly reflects that in it's repetitiveness and breaks for them to be able to catch their breathe. It's much like Broadway/musicals in that sense. Anyways, I get where she's coming from, and respect her opinion. Even though I kind of disagree with some of it. Also, I think I get her sense of humor because I really did find her amusing. Please tell her thank you for doing this for us!

It's like someone with a preference for carbonara rather than bolognese. How do you you hope to have an answer that will satisfy you? Legit if someone asks her why she liked a certain unknown performer (for example), she would be defending her preference without the other person getting it. Its really close minded but I get there are people like that but damn...she is kind of negative because her daughter is clearly a fan. You don't knock your daughter's tastes unless it's destructive

I fully understand your mom was a dance teacher, and that’s why you’re watching practices.. But to fully appreciate their dance skills, and how great they are , your mom should watch some live performances.. And absolutely no intention of being rude, but concentrating way too much on their clothes, and missing out on the dancing.. But pretty sure she would understand why we love so much after watching live performances and MV’s.

I watched both your videos that featured your mum. I almost got heartburn from holding back my rage, and had to take a breather before writing a comment. 😁 These things are on the top of my mind: - It's baffling to me (as a 30++ yo woman) that your mom, a dancer-choreographer, thinks that dance moves need to be separated into male and female moves. Dance is about expression and art. I'm glad I watched until the end so I saw her say "different is good". - continuing from that point, I realise that your mum doesn't know what the lyrics say, and how the dance is enhancing and expressing the lyrics (like Yoongi covering his mouth with his finger, and Jungkook and Hobi doing the mirror move). Maybe she would have reacted differently if she knew, who knows. - making fun of their names, while it can be fun, is quite rude and unnecessary in my opinion. Obviously they'll have Korean names, that will be different from English names. - Your mom knew that she was reacting to a dance PRACTICE, so why were there so many negative comments about the clothes, hats, walls, breathing, dirty floors and so on, I really don't understand. I was actually looking forward to hearing real comments about the dance steps and details, good or bad, but that didn't happen much. Only "I like that move" and "I don't like that move" but WHY?? Was she being dismissive and disdainful, or is that just her way of reacting to world class performers? I hope she can be a bit more specific in her critique and slightly more open minded if you end up doing another video together! Props to you for being super patient with her 😅

I relate to this experience so much. My mom doesn't get why I like them really either. Also side note, BTS has said in an interview that their contract says they ARE allowed to date. They just choose not to mostly due to being way too busy with tours, writing, producing, practice, etc. (Although this is a BigHit thing, most companies don't allow it apparently)

The reason Idols do not date publicly and why most companies do have contracts against it is because Idols are groomed into being your ideal boyfriend or girlfriend. The main issue with this is some people become so obsessed with the belief that the Idol really is theres that they lose touch with reality and that is where you get the crazies from. J Hope's sister and her friend were attacked by crazy fans when the friend posted selfies of her with BTS. Or when RM posted that twitter pic and ARMY thought he had a secret girlfriend and the crazies found a random Korean actress with short hair that had recently been at the same place as RM and they started sending her death threats even after she stated she had never even met anyone from BTS. It's a reason why you dont see BTS taking selfies with ARMY, its honestly more for ARMY's protection than BTS. If a selfie with an ARMY showed up and someone thought "omg Jimin is hella close with her, almost touching her cheek" they would lash out there jealousy at that girl. Also Idols dating has almost destroyed careers. Korean culture is much different than ours, and its hard to explain it to people who have no connection to the culture.

I actually really like your mom and her comments. She did seem to comment more on the clothes and outfits than the dancing, but I do think that she had some very good points and valid points of view. I'm a huge ARMY and love our boys, but not everything that they do is perfect. I do enjoy hearing some of her technical critiques and pointing out things with an experienced eye. She honestly earned my respect when she noticed that Jimin's shoelace was untied. I like your mom's sense of humor and overall appreciated her thoughts. She has a more traditional dance point of view, which is totally okay. Different things are taken into account than in modern dance, and it's nice to get both perspectives. Thanks for inviting her to react!

@3:30 It honestly doesn’t matter how old the male artists are unless they’re in like in mid 40s or 50s because i’ve seen older kpop artists do the same thing and even having their shirts of allot more often when they’re extremely built....@3:57 I don’t think everyone noticed that Jimin wears the same outfit that he wore during Fake Love dance practice......@4:49 Jungkook is fine, he can see it only doesn’t look like it from your view....@6:48 First of all, they were actually out of breath, two they had practiced this choreography for hours non stop until they got it right off camera before filming the finished result which what this dance practice is and I’m sure students do the same thing after having to practice for so many hours then having to jump right into doing the choreography individually or together as group in dance studios then when done they’re extremely out of breathe and exhausted....@10:04 I’m sorry Wow, i know these are her personally opinions and observation but she seriously just say that, black goes with almost every color that’s why it’s color black but than again she’s not aware that foreigners dont dress like westerners at all they have their own fashion styles....@10:56 Westerners can never successfully dance like them nor any kpop artists but they do try their best.....@14:42 🤣 She really asked that question? Your Mom: Why you like them so much?” Fans: “Are serious, do you really need an answer? Do you not hear and look at them....@17:45 She’s still learning, she’s doesn’t understand at all that their culture is not like western culture, foreign famous people especially asian kpop artists aren’t allowed to date publicly because it can lead to scandals and etc because of the darn obsessive fans (crazy sasaengs) get extremely jealous that their artist is with someone spreading rumors and crap about that person which the corrupt media gets ahold of and the rest is history; I can tell you respectable professional fans wouldn’t do that....

So you should show her the live performance of BTS, and see how repetitive moves will look different on stage with the different songs and BTS's energetic moves while dancing and sing at the same time.

I'm sure at REAL practices they wear something they can dance in for 4-8 hrs but for these practices are just to show off the choreo, they probably don't spend more than 1-2 hrs so normal clothes aren't a hindrance because they perform for over 2hrs in fancy normal clothes. You have to know about the industry of Idol culture in Korea. It's a common thing for some companies to restrict PUBLIC dating because Idols were meant to be the ultimate gf/bf for their fans. Big Hit has never had that stipulation in contracts, the guys decided for themselves to not publicly show any dating. Most of the fans who have issues about dating are SK fans because that Idol culture stigma about dating is still a thing even if the company or Idol themselves support it. With your mom, it's more of the "I just don't get this" to me. I don't think she was trying to be mean but some of the older gen doesn't understand why you like someone who doesn't speak english when there are many perfectly good artist out there who do. Plus she also doesn't know that what you do choreo wise in the West isn't necessarily what is done in the East. So many of her comments TO ME were just based on ignorance of anything not in her purview.
