Btw just wanted to let you know at 3:48 you guys were saying there was a mirror in front of them, but actually, the mirror is on the left side of the video. So they weren't in front of anything except the camera. Also, little fact, when BTS practices they practice in front of the mirror, and when they're ready they put the curtains down (above the mirror there are curtains) and practice without a mirror to make sure it's perfect. love the reaction and respect. :) Edit: they also practice for 12-16 hours a day.

The direction that they are facing are actually away from the mirror. For dance practice videos, the groups usually face away so they are more prepared for a live performance (where it would be bright lights, cameras, and fans in front of them) Groups either face away from the mirror to record these practices, or they cover the mirror

since you guys mentioned african dancing in the reaction for on, if you guys watch the idol dance practice kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJm6iapra9WohLs&ab_channel=BANGTANTV i personally some parts of the dance is highly inspired by both afro and traditional korean dancing ! the dance is also incredibly difficult so it's worth checking out. edit: i would say that son song-deuk (choreographer and teacher for them since the beginning) has played the biggest part in bts' cohesive knowledge of dance, especially in their early days of learning more hiphop/popping dance styles. here are some older dance practices that were very iconic: danger dance practice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHvaeXymetSae7s boy in luv dance practice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naLdZ3SarZtmrZo we are bulletproof pt. 2 dance practice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIechKmjqJJ_j7s also for the last vid, what you said about the person in the green shirt (j-hope/hoseok) was spot-on, he had a background in street dancing before joining the group. as for the person in the grey hoodie and blonde ponytail (jimin), i couldn't tell you if he has studied afro dance, but he started off popping in 8th grade or so and moved on to contemporary/modern/ballet dance styles in high school. his texture overall is really interesting if you watch more vids of him dancing. here are some other legendary dances that would be fun to react to: black swan (live vocals): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYSxlWNooLupbtE , kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWKQpHmkYs9oepI here's the dance practice to it as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIW2Yp13nbyDmNk dionysus (live vocals, this one is incredibly long+hard): kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y57Shn1pgdySirM dance practice versions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJTGo2R4rLN8Zrs , kzbin.info/www/bejne/h57KlKyCpN-emLM fake love (live vocals, this stage was so interesting and you'll get to see a small glimpse of them dancing solo): kzbin.info/www/bejne/anm0qKGuacqDg5o&ab_channel=GoldenDiscAwards dance practice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pILchJWEfNpnnZI

So true. Kpop groups are a whole new league - there's basically no comparison with the 90s girl or boy groups (which is why us fans get irked when BTS is dismissed as just another boy band). Kpop artists train rigorously in singing and dancing for years and only a fraction of them get to actually debut. And to millions, BTS is also in a league of their own in the world of Kpop - to me, they come across as uniquely genuine and passionate and involved, as people and as a group (they are like brothers and family to each other) and as performers. There's a reason they're the top of the top. All the Kpop idols out there impress me but only BTS has stolen my heart and set up residence in my head rent-free, haha.

@@jazz_g9btd-c241 Yeah! Been loving them! The dance in ON ! The overall design with the continually evolving small internal design, camera and editing are mind-blowing. The dance practice says it all, though. Just the pure dance is a total killer. They hit so hard. That has to tear muscles. Popping and locking as hard as they are moving, not to mention the oxygen needed to do that? Few people can reach that level of fitness. They are on the highest pro dancer level.
@jazz_g9btd-c2413 жыл бұрын
@@helenscott8202 Mind-blowing indeed!! What you said are all true. Their energy and fitness are that high. Muscle memory at it's finest. I danced to Dope 2 years ago and injured my knee and we were only practicing for 2x a week. Imagine them with all their choreos from the start and rehearsing for more than 12 hours a day!! That is passion and dedication.

@@jazz_g9btd-c241 If you possibly can, find some dance classes. After I hit 35, to dance, work, take care of a daughter, I took ballet classes in the neighborhood with elementary and middle school kids to stay in shape. Before, I had the chance to take classes at night at several universities. You need classes to build your knees, torso strength. I started dancing when I was 20. Before that, I was just too shy. Do I regret not starting earlier? Oh yeah! That’s one of my life lessons I’ve had to accept.

it's funny how you mention that they have the dance practice, the mv, & the performance vid which is just what kpop groups have normally the amount of times they perform these dances also leaks into multiple comeback stages, concerts, & award shows + taking into account how many times they have to change the choreo for different things depending on timing of everything even then, they perform things from way back as in let's say the group Shinee (they're a really good group plz check them out they're 2nd gen kpop) who debuted with Replay in 2008, they might just bring back that choreo for a concert or award show performance & still kill it just how they originally did even if they haven't danced or touched on those moves in forever a lot of work goes into this & i'm really happy to see them get recognition on your channel as you get to break down your process on how you'd run things for examples sake when explaining complexities or even simply losing it cuz of how dope things look put together

You guys nailed it again. I think a big part of the reason BTS and K-Pop is really popping off recently is because American entertainers aren't doing it like Korea is right now. South Korean entertainment went off of what we were doing in the 90s and early 2000's with MJ and Janet like you said and they kept rolling with that and elevating it, while our entertainers have largely gotten kinda complacent. We gotta step it up lol. It also explains why K-Pop fans are so intensely passionate (kind of like how people were for The Beatles or for Michael Jackson during the peak of their popularity) because the fans see the work being put in, so we all be like "hell yeah i'ma go to all the concerts and buy all your merch" lol.

I love this bc this is probably one of their songs with the easiest choreography lol they have so many more detailed and intricate moves with crazy transitions with the cleanest formations but with such a fun way of transitioning... it’s never simple. I wonder if they chose two award show performances bc they didn’t think it would be as hyped as a huge performance of it wasn’t just their music video dance practices . Hopefully they’ll check out more music video choreo when it’s just them is really better because they can see the full dances... they don’t need the flash of all the background dancers for every video. The back dancers are absolutely incredible and I love those huge moments... but bts on their own are impressive... and in the group stuff it’s easier to see the small details in everything they do. DOPE is definitely a fun one with the footwork, FIRE is a good one, BLACK SWAN , DANGER, the intro navy performance one is cool... even the sbs dance practice is intense and a bigger performance ... but IDOL is def a favorite... there’s so many lol

I used to dance hip-hop, break, jazz, oriental in my youth and that's the first thing that attracted me to BTS when I came across their debut song No More Dream in 2013. As dancers, we appreciate how much work these boys put into their craft and how fit and athletic they are to pull this off especially during their 3hrs concerts or 30mins performance at award shows. The amount of practice and dedication! All of them are perfectionists and it shows when they perform. After MJ and Janet Jackson, I couldn't find anyone after them to match their amazing performances until BTS. Of course there were many wonderful artists but I feel they never reached that level I wanted to see. Oh by the way, I'm 57 :)
