Even though it opens up with Japanese-American DJ Steve Aoki‬, the song itself is owned by BigHit(aka HYBE) / BTS and it was written by BTS Leader “RM” (comes out of ambulance) which was said to be inspired by Obama speeches whenever he stops talking and drops the mic. After listening to the track and loved it so much that Steve collabed with BTS to make a remix version of their original song “Mic Drop” which is in Korean and got featured in their music video. He does get credit for the remix on top of being in the MV, there’s also another remix he did with ‪Desiigner‬'s voice played in the background in the intro of the video. *This song is one of many tracks BTS has done directed at anyone who’s against their well earned success* FUN FACTS: Almost everything used is REAL except maybe the floating mics and firey debri after literally blowing up a car behind the boys (looks like falling people on fire LOL). #MicDrop #BTS Just to let you know they're not swearing NOR saying the western used “N” word it only sounds like it, the “Nega” word in their language means “I” or “you” in Korean. Everyone who doesn’t understand a bit about the language & meanings has that reaction especially when they hear the “Nega” word; which is very commonly used allot in the Asian culture as well as in music. It’s not the same as the western used “N” word, which allot of Americans got too comfortable hearing or saying assuming automatically when they hear it from a foreigner that’s what they mean but it has nothing to do with black people at all. *In some foreign languages, many commonly words will sound similar but have different meanings*

Really appreciated your comments! I’ve seen this video a thousand times, but you did point out things I hadn’t noticed before. I think this video is a masterpiece. It goes to show that the production team is excellent and do their jobs very well. I believe I’ve read where the explosion behind BTS about halfway through the song is real ~ no CGI. Apparently they had to film about 5 or so takes as the explosion was scaring the group members! Thanks for your analysis. Also, if you haven’t yet, check out Blood Sweat & Tears music video. Lots of deep meaning, production value is incredible, and it’s just a work of art.

When I heard about what you said about camera work not connecting with the choreo made me laugh so hard, because that's what we nitpick about shows in America when BTS is on, they don't know how to work with the dancing. BTS has issues with tv networks for this too. BigHit (BTS's company), in all its petty glory, have even made choreography videos that showcases their choreo because the camera crew in the tv networks did horrible. Case and point SBS BTS intro performance (when they debuted), they made a choreo video for it, gave us a POV of three different angles, and calling it good camera, very good camera etc. I am not kidding. I think Seventeen had done the same thing in just this year.

Hmmm. I don’t see similarities really to Humble or Dark Knight. If you want to see a BTS MV, Blood Sweat and Tears, Fake Love, Spring Day and On: Kinetic Manifesto are tops. BTS doesn’t make music videos, they make art pieces. Also, BigHit (their company) uses as many practical effects as possible, so in the flames scene, the only thing that wasn’t actually there was the objects falling from the ground. Other great choreos/mvs I recommend are Irene and Seulgi’s Naughty, Treasure’s JikJin, StrayKids’ God’s Menu, StrayKids’ Thunderous, Ateez’s Say my Name and HALA HALA (watch together), NCT’s Black on Black, NCT 127’s Gimme Gimme and Kick It, and NCT Dream’s Hello Future. Also I’m not big on girl groups but check out Pixy and Pink Fantasy. They have darker concepts and harder choreos than other girl groups.

Awesome reaction! Your friend might enjoy the behind the scenes videos for On: Kinetic Manifesto where we can see some of the drone and crane work (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnXGZ6d-nL2jbpo) and Save Me (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpbFmKJ5pNCJmas) which is a "one take" mv where we get to see a lot of the camera operator essentially doing his own choreography as the guys move in and out of frame -- all done outside, on uneven ground, in the rain and wind. Both shoots really make you appreciate the hard work the crew does behind the camera.

Great lighting! You guys are looking good! About that room where it looks like they're being questioned, if you watch Korean drama, you will see that that setup is more like a police press conference about a case, than it is about somebody being questioned as a suspect. The room that looks like it may be a prison might be holding cells in a police station. Ace comments about choreography of dance and camera work.

will you guys react to an "Intro To The 7 Members of BTS" video, to get a better understanding of them? I'll link you an Intro vid that is the most recently made, it has the best and most up-to-date info in terms of introducing each member, their background, their skillsets, their roles, their personalities and a bit about how they regard and treat one another: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2HQkIGlYsSZfdk That Intro video is titled "draft" because the girl who made it is still taking suggestions on how to improve her video, but everyone in the comments all agree her Intro vid is already much better than any existing Intro vid, in terms of introducing each member. There's text you have to read so feel free to pause and/or rewind whenever you need to. I know you guys are probably more drawn to the dance choreo and videography aspects of them since those are your areas of expertise and interest, but a big reason why BTS is so loved and respected is because they write and produce their own songs. They are known for great lyricism and songs that talk about a lot of deeper subjects. A lot of their songs talk about mental health, self love, healing, social/political issues. They draw inspirations from psychology, philosophy, art, literature, current events, Korean culture, as well as their own personal stories and struggles. You can get a lot of creative ideas from exploring the music of BTS, it might even benefit you on a personal aspect. A lot of people have commented that their songs helped their mental health and got them through hard times, even stopped some people from committing suicide. The 3 rappers are the primary songwriters and producers for the group, they are accredited to more than 100 songs EACH. RM is closer to 200 songs. The 3 rappers also have their own sub-unit where they make purely rap songs together. If you want to hear what they are capable in rap, highly suggest checking out their harder rap songs. They have Cyphers #1 - #4, they made those in response to the hate and criticism they were receiving, especially from underground rappers. No music videos, but you can check out lyric videos for them, and here is their Cyphers Medley Live performance where they each do a verse for the first 3 Cyphers and then perform the entire 4th Cypher: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIWcZGOOe5apsKM The 3 rappers also have a great rap song called Outro: Tear. No music vid again, but here is a famous Wembley live performance of it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3XYkn19jspre7M They wrote Outro: Tear during a time when BTS was going through a very difficult period a few years ago, and they were seriously considering disbanding. Since they have been working and living together since their teens and are close like blood brothers, the thought of disbanding to them was literal heartbreak. So the rappers wrote Outro: Tear dedicated to the rest of the members of BTS. When the rappers played the song for everyone, they all broke down crying together. Luckily they were able to overcome their difficulties and obviously didn't disband, but this song was probably a turning point for them. Each rapper also wrote and produced their own solo rap mixtapes. Suga especially has struggled a lot with mental health, like severe depression, social phobia, and suicidal thoughts. He addresses these struggles in his mixtapes, like in his song The Last. He goes by the alter ego Agust D for his mixtapes. RM and J-Hope's mixtapes are also really good, they present their personal stories and thoughts through their mixtapes. Some suggestions to get you started to their mixtapes: - Joke by RM - Do you by RM - Daechwita by Agust D - Agust D by Agust D - Daydream by J-Hope - Baseline by J-Hope (this is John Cena's favorite Jhope song, he really likes J-Hope's mixtape) Another reason why BTS is so respected and loved is because of their sincere and extreme passion for their craft, to the point where they spend millions of dollars just to make free songs. Like the 3 rappers mixtapes I just mentioned were all released for free, even though they spent a lot of money to make them, film music vids, etc. J-Hope even paid $2.7 million to the original artist to re-make the Chicken Noodle Soup song by Webstar and Young B, the popular 2000s hiphop song. J-Hope spent so much money to re-make it and released his version as a free song as a gift for fans. Spent more money to film a music video and flew from Korea to LA to film it. He did all that just to pay homage to his hiphop dancing roots, as CNS was one of the first songs he danced to when he started learning hiphop dancing. His re-make features Becky G. You guys would probably like his re-make a lot. Another reason why BTS is so respected and loved is also due to how good of people they actually are, like the quality of their characters. They way they treat each other, their craft and their fans is so sincere, selfless and caring. With typical boy/girls bands, or even within normal people's family members or friend groups, there is a lot of fighting, jealousy, competition, comparison, etc. Especially with boy/girl bands, a lot of them disband because of disagreements or fighting about individual popularity. But the BTS members do not do that to each other, they do not have jealousy or compete for individual attention. They don't fight about who gets more lines in a song, or who gets more center positions in choreos. Technically speaking Jhope is the best dancer of the group, but he has no problem giving the most center positions to Jungkook. Any chance they get, they always try to give the attention and spotlight to other members of the group. Any chance they get, they talk about the good qualities of other members and express gratitude for what the other members do for the team and for one another. They are also very supportive of one another's solo projects, the rappers even help to write and produce solo songs for the vocalists and help them shine. For example RM is the primary songwriter for a solo song called Singularity by their vocalist V. The song is neo-soul. There is great dance choreography and cinematography in the music video, so you guys will probably like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnRoXd9Z9qfgbM And Suga produced a solo song for Jungkook called Stay Alive. Suga is also the primary songwriter and composer for it. It's a song for their webtoon, they released a promo vid for it with a shortened version of the song, it has some cool anime visuals: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6vNhaN5nMt8f6s And here's a lyric vid with the full song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6O1g5yOqM2Bl7c Since BTS shows a lot of behind the scenes content and a lot of footage from their personal time, you can really see what kind of people they are. Of course they still have disagreements and fights sometimes, they aren't afraid to show that. But the type of bond and care they have for one another is seriously something you don't see even within a lot of people's families or friend groups. Exploring BTS has made me become a better person and more self-aware of how I treat people, family and friends. I think there is a lot you guys can learn and benefit from BTS besides their dance skills or videography, if you're willing to explore deeper. It will also help you to understand better why they are so big.
