One of the members was not in the performance because he was recovering from surgery so you will notice a "gap" in some of the formations and such because they are leaving his spot open for him. They did this for all of their performances during the time he was out, and even now as he is unable to attend some things due to rehab and such. BTS does their live, live. The techs at various music award shows (not BTS staff) have secretly leaked info showing how other groups were lipsynching with their mics off or turned up their backtracks at 80%, or the hard parts were pre-recorded & they pretended to sing them, while BTS does it live. If they are using some pre-recorded parts (usually backing parts), we know because they do not PRETEND to sing them! They either sing live or not at all. Jimin does a lot of heavy dancing at concerts and he typically won't sing all his lines and save his voice for the tough parts because Jimin is mostly tasked with the high notes. JK being the most stable, does the meat of the live singing.

@@joaniewwh3502 yes backing is important but it became a crutch for most kpop acts. For BTS their backing which they sing along to is at 8% max . When they don't sing you can hear the faintest of track, but like ive mentioned, for others its 80% 😁.

Others have mentioned the choreographer is 19 year old Sienna. Furthermore, BTS' in-house Performance Director is called Son Sungdeuk. He has been with the boys since the very beginning and did most of their choreographys early in their carreer. He's awesome. Then lastly BTS member J-Hope is officially assigned as dance leader, taking responsibility during dance practices and preparing performances. He is the one with the most experience as a dancer/performer. He started streetdancing in like 2006 and has won a national competition in Korea. BTS member Jimin also has a ton of experience, being the top student of contemporary dance in highschool as well as doing popping and variius other styles on the side. @adrxdeedrich50913 жыл бұрын
They do actually have pre recorded/ backtrack that plays and sometimes louder than their voices for specific parts of their live performances . They are human , they are the best possible live performers but they do actually make use of the pre record , listen carefully to their live performances , jimin and v particularly .. jimin particularly that has to belt out high notes while vigorously dancing , will usually be aided by the backtrack for those notes.. their mics are also auto tune, not much but to help them for a smoother sound and to save energy for dancing , they have beautiful voices but it's not possible to not have pre recorded playing at the same time while dancing , they would not be able to do a great performance without the help , they are the best at dancing and singing and there is just no way that any performer can do it without aid and mics with sound effects to make voices sound stable ..
@army4life4563 жыл бұрын
@@adrxdeedrich5091 Some of the songs have backing vocals for the intense choreo parts but if you watch live performances there are some where someone will hold their mic up for the crowd to sing a part and there isn't any vocals playing at all. I just saw this yesterday during a live performance of a medley where Jimin held the mic up to the audience during a couple of his parts and there were no backing vocals at all. He did this on Dynamite before and only one time did I hear a back up vocal and ironically, it was a very deep voice and that voice had autotune. So that clearly was not Jimin but a background vocal. I'm pretty sure it was the dance break version where he did the taekwondo spin before his part. I saw some print outs for the sound engineering for some award shows in an article and BTS was one of only a few performers that did NOT have a pre-recorded audio track. The bottom line is that BTS doesn't rely on pre-recorded vocal tracks to lipsync over and they don't need auto-tune to sound good live. They get accused of that constantly when it's simply not true. They have worked extremely hard and trained vigorously for years. I can't think of a single Western artist that could perform even just 3 live songs at the same level of singing/rapping/dancing BTS does without collapsing or sounding awful. I find it annoying when people feed into the anti narrative that BTS lipsyncs or relies on auto tune, because it is used to disrespect, demean and devalue them.

-They incorporate many different dance moves in their choreographys. Their main choreographer [from predebut (even before their debut in 2013) till now is Son Sung-deuk. One of the two main dancers and who is also the dance leader, J-hope, learns the dances in a really short time, helps the other members with the choreo and also helps with the building of the choreo as well. -They also sometimes have side choreographers, for this dance mainly, people in the comments left the choreographers name. -Since you noticed that there are African dance moves in the choreo as well, you might like to check out their “Idol” Dance Practise. They incorporated their Korean traditional dance moves and also the gwara gwara and shaku shaku if i remember it right. The song has traditional korean beats, the songs meaning is also special, having heavy connection to their culture. You might want to check out the legendary “Idol Performance 2018 MAMA”. -They sing live btw. With a backing track at time. I’ve had the privilege of having a father absolutely insane about MJ and Janet when I used to be a kid. When I wanted to progress in english around 15 I listened to the lyrics and translated them and watched back every single video MJ put out including of course the behind the scene. He truly was the King. Also his and Janet military style kind of dance are my absolute favorite they’re so intense without being try hards everything is immaculate. You should add that every single person who had the chance to dance with MJ, in a music video or a concert performance were so talented they all opened their own dance school. About this dance, what’s unbelievable is that the choreographer is actually DANCING with them, she’s the super fierce one in the center right in the beginning. She did her own reaction video to the MV she’s so young so talented her transitions are nothing short of perfect. The crew is so in sync it’s like they’re breathing with the same pair of lungs, have the same heart beating and they’re all so full of passion the way they encouraged the members during the dance break was heart warming. I think the best performance of this was at the Jimmy Fallon Show at Grand Central. They had to go 4 times straight and still gave more than 💯 every single times. We can see in BTS movies and series documentaries that a lot of times they need oxygen right after performing they need help getting off the lift and to walk they faint. And the thing is they catch a lot of flack for having a voice crack here and there when they’re actually singing live while other kpop groups use a “live recorded” version where you hear them fake breath snd shit. Keep on nerding and geeking out my friends that’s why I subscribed to this channel, for the professional opinion us ARMY know the clout chasers who loves everything everyone do and jump up and down for the bare minimum shit. PS: they confirmed that their choero for Idols was inspired by a South African dance. Blood Sweet and tears song was heavily inspired by reggaeton and moombahton. The 7 members compose but 3 of them are producing almost every songs. One of them won the Producer of the Year award, two of them were on 2020 BB top 10 list of best producers. Their official choreographer who’s been with them since before their debut is called Son Sung-deuk he has also won several awards and revolutionized kpop choreography scene for the sharpness of his choreo, the transitions, the use of several type of dance ( hip-hop, crump and even modern dance!) at first he was really tough about being perfectly synchronized which brought the overall level of the genre UP and then he gave each members their own movements their own time to shine while style having incredible out of this world cohesion. Their label used to be so poor the CEO was/is a producer and the choreographer used to be one their backup dancers. Your journey just began, friends (also would you please put some respect on that Black Panther comic book on your wall and straighten him up PLEASE this is eating me from the inside!) Lots of love and respect from France!

wow! this was such a delight to watch. im cheesing here at y’all nerding out and showcasing your knowledge! i especially thought it was really cool how y’all could easily pick out the guy in the green shirt & hat as a popper! his stage name is j-hope and he’s their main dancer and dance leader - before joining bts he had years of experience in street dance and pop & locking. i hella respect and admire people who can flex their expertise like this :) if i could recommend another bts dance practice to watch, it would def be Dionysus. the THEATRICSSSSS. there’s the standard choreo that they would perform on tour and there’s also a special number they put together for an awards show (MMA 2019) that includes a siiiiick surprise dance break in the middle. I think y’all would really enjoy watching both!

There's a version of this performance where their mic feed is highlighted. It's amazing hearing the live singing. OH they love MJ!!! You would really love the 'Dynamite' performance at he MMA 2020. But choreography. Goodness so many I love, black swan, Blood sweat and Tears, oh gosh Dionysus too. Fire is exciting, spring day is heartfelt. But honestly I think it would be great if you could see a live performance of theirs with the energy for the crowd and everything!

BTS (and Kpop) usually "commission" choreographers around the world. *Keone Madrid* , *Brian Puspos* , *Sienna Lalau* , are a few names in US that had choreographed some of their songs, sometimes it's also co-creations. Then at the end it always goes through Mr Son Sung Deuk, their Performance Director, who can change some parts of the routine if needed (he has also choreographed some of BTS songs). In conclusion, for the "Who's their Dance Teacher?", We would all name Son Sung Deuk at some point, because he's the leader (Director) of their "dance/performance crew", even tho he's not necessarily the choreographer for every song, nor the one who always teaches the boys, but he's always involved. Then, the members are also free to take classes from other teachers as well, take private dance classes, attend dance studios (but this are some information we don't get much) 😅

The choreographer for ON was the young and famous Sienna Lalau. The practice was in California or New York as they were preparing for a live show. When they performed ON at an awards show they were on a football field, and they had the whole UCLA band and gymnast. Their dance teacher is Mr. Son. You may want to see the commentary of ON. You will see the back story of the band, gospel singers of the entire album of Map of the Soul 7. Enjoy going down the rabbit hole.

I am glad to find choreographers that are enjoying the while performance of BTS and their dancers! The first thing that caught my eye about them was how clean they dance. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is BTS. There is SO MUCH MORE for you to react to. I would definitely suggest reacting to their dance practices. Their live performances are so incredible, and don't skip those, but you can often see details in practice that you miss in performance!

I am not 100% sure but I think the choreographer for this piece was a nineteen year old well known choreographer and she was dancing with everyone too. I am not too sure but someone might give you a more detailed description. You guys would definitely love BTS Dionysus dance practice. I would love to hear your input on the use of props and the large group. Love your reactions XD

I’ve seen a lot dancer reactions but your explanations and just insight in general is so amazing and the fact you were able to know Jhope’s a pop and lock dancer just shows your knowledge and experience with dance. So thank you for your reaction and commentary I really appreciate it ❤️

I would like to see you reacting to dynamite with the dance break, it reminds me a lot to the Michael style and it would be amazing to see what you have to say about the choreography. Thanks for the reaction and sorry for the broke English.

So enjoyed your reaction! The one in the green oozing swag you said looks like a popper, he's J-Hope the dance leader. He was a famous street dancer before joining BTS. BTS has behind the scenes (their channel Bangtantv) of this dance practice and the dance music video called On-Kinetic manifesto.

crazy part is they ALWAYS sing live... even if their voices are messed up they will sing live... and because they sound so good live a lot of haters have said they lip-synch, so on multiple occasions they stop singing and all you can hear is the beat or ARMY screaming the lyrics for them. i think most ARMY will agree with me on this statement. BTS is great, their music videos and dancing is undeniably amazing, they are irrefutably talented; BUT they are better live. Even if you watch a video of them live, you can feel the energy and see the talent. info on dance line J-Hope (Hobi / Jung Hoseok) [green + khaki & hat] : Street Dancer for AT LEAST 10 years before joining BIG HIT (their label) Jimin (Jiminie / Park Jimin) [gray hoodie + black sweats & blonde hair] : studied contemporary dance in High School, but before that learned how to do popping in middle school (i think he also took ballet classes) V (Tae & TaeTae / Kim Taehyun) [all gray fit + white headband & black hair] : was only originally a vocalist, but after his solo track 'Singularity' of the 'LOVE YOURSELF: TEAR' album he was officially added onto the dance line. Jungkook (JK / Jeon Jungkook) [white shit + black pants & no hat] : he joined BIGHIT in 2011 (he was 13-14) he is an all rounder when it comes to performance (we dont have much info on pre-debut JK because... well he was a child)

The man you were talking about with the hat and the green shirt, his name is J-hope! You were so right about his dance style being locking because he does! He has a background of street dancing and he’s the dance leader of the band. He’s one of the 3 rappers of the group. Love how attentive you guys are (I mean, you’re dancers 😂 that’s guaranteed). Loved the reaction!

BTS performed this routine in a dance video. You might want to check out ON: Kinetic Manifesto. This was rehearsed and shot in LA, some time in February 2020. This was supposed to be the opening number for their 2020 stadium concert world tour (their 2nd stadium world tour), but sadly, Covid happened and the tour was postponed. They first performed this live at Central Station (NY) for Jimmy Fallon's show. When they came back to Korea after their US promotions of their album at that time (Map of The Seoul: 7), they performed this in some Korean music shows, but without an audience. Until this day, BTS have expressed their frustrations multiple times for not being able to show this routine live with their fans: ARMY. It looks like next year could be the resumption of live concerts, so we're hoping we'd see this live, finally. Although we don't know if it's still gonna be the opening number because they're gonna be releasing a new album soon.

I've been looking for reactions like this! Love the "nerding out." That's what is enjoyable to watch! It helps me know, as a non-dancer, what to look for and what is important and/or hard to do from a dancer's perspective.

When they did this dance practice they were in California, Los Angeles. The marching band in this MV was ULCA. They did a hella job. They also had a gospel choir for the backup vocals. They filmed the Connectic Manifesto MV at The Sepulveda Dam here in LA. They had a behind-the-scenes with UCLA and the gospel choir. Check that out. They were here in California for about a month filming On and Black Swan. They filmed Black Swan at the FOX theater in LA as well. That one was a good one too. Check it out.

Omg I am just seeing this reaction for the first time and you made a comment that I have been saying since I first saw the MV for this song years ago. They are about to bring down the walls of Jericho. That is how I feel every time I see any version of this song. Then all the visuals in the official MV damn I knew they were about to go to battle and take on all the other bands and claim their place in music history. 💜 Thanks for this reaction.

I don't even know where to start, lol. You guys are awesome, I loved your reaction and your knowledge of dancing. BTS has talents you can't believe. And they very much love and are influenced by Michel Jackson. They have spoken several times to his nephew and he has given them his blessing to pay homage to his uncle. You definitely need to watch their MV Dynamite. They pay so homage to Michael. Also their live performance on the 2020 MMA awards for dynamite. They do a brake down in the middle of the song and it's a tribute to MJ. They also do not lip sync any live performances. They have backing tracks playing so they can catch a breath or do costume changes. But they always sing live and will deliberately take breaks in their singing just to prove they are singing live. I have never seen a live performance like theirs. Even the King MJ who's was fabulous live. BTS has taken MJ's live performances and turned them up about 10x. I am by no means disrespecting MJ. He is one of my favorite performers of all time and he will never be replaced. BTS is BTS, no one else. We are their fan base called ARMY and we will be more than happy to make suggestions or answer questions for you. We love seeing new people discover our boys and see how remarkable they are. They have so much content that is why ARMY can help you with what you would like to see most. If it is their dance practices they have tons and it does show their incredible talent and discipline. You would also probably really enjoy their guides so you could learn more about them as people and about how they got started and how far they have come. Sorry this is a long comment. There is so much to BTS you have no idea. But I am so glad you have hopped on the train and I hope you continue the ride 💜💜💜
