Great review! It was hard to find a good one! Seems like a wonderful movie!

Thanks. Yeah it really is, everyone talks about how sad and soul crushing it is. But I find it so beautiful and Bjork is just wonderful in it.

Dancer in the Dark is my favorite movie. There is a love, friendship, dedication, whenever I watch it or listen to the ost, my heart cries in pain. Probably too because the main role in this movie is played by my beloved Bjork - I love her, her voice , singing, beauty and music. I have never felt so depressed, motivated and inspired at the same time after any movie and, it is just a work of art, what Bjork touches turns to gold. One thing worried me, however, the fact that this bastard Von Tier, despite being a genius director, is known for molesting actresses on the set. Bjork have a strong personality, so she did not allow him to do it, and therefore there was a big scratch on the set between those two.I think Bjork will not appear in any movie like this one for these reasons as she said she was mentally exhausted, she can only play some short roles like in The Northman. Nevertheless, I often come back and I will be back to this beautiful movie and this beautiful soundtrack. This is beautiful in this film, they have showned to us the hard life of the main character, yet loving life through love for her son and musical, and it creates one whole. Thank you for your attention.

Thanks for your beautiful words. I agree, I'm a big fan of Bjork too, she's such a fascinating and talented artist. And to see her in a film that is both beautiful and tragic is just amazing to watch. I think if she was treated better, we could have seen her do some great work. But at least we do have her in a film like this. It truly does stir up certain emotions and leaves a lasting effect on the viewer. I think beauty and tragedy walk hand in hand together in this film. I do love this film so much.

He is not known for molesting actresses. Look at the body of work he has done, all the actresses that keep coming back to work with him again and again.

This is likely my favorite movie, and it makes me cry every time. It’s pretty polarizing and I just don’t see the negative points made against it.

I agree it's such a tragically beautiful film, that I think some people just don't get. Bjork is amazing and I wish she did more films. And her music is just fantastic.

I’ve always hated musicals for the same reason Jeff did in the movie, like why would people suddenly start dancing and singing but this movie didn’t change that opinion of mine but instead changed the idea of a musical entirely; the movie having the musical segments be the day dreams of Selma just added to the movie in a way I honestly can’t describe.

I'm definitely don't go much on musicals either (Evita is an exception). I think there is something about film makers that take on something different, they can bring an originality to it. And that's exactly what Lar Von Trier did with this film.

I probably will watch it then, I have 5 of his newer movies. I haven't seen this or breaking the waves. Although I don't like musicals . I might like this. Food for thought buddy: you gave away a few spoilers there by including settings of musicals. So I can tell with what you said she must get wrongfully accused of something and end up in prison after a court case. I did enjoy how you have passion and Change the volume and tone of your voice. Almost whispered at one point. Keep doing that 👌. Also I have an idea for you. Review all of his movies then pick another director either controversial or associated with horror or disturbing cinema or foreign language cinema. Then Keep it going so people can binge watch your videos as it's slightly more tied together. Hopefully you understand I'm trying to help you and not criticise you. I'm just thinking that's what I would do if I was going to start Reviews . Also you have a cool accent 😎 👌

I'm not a big musical fan, but the way he does it and the fact it's bjork, make it something different. Thanks for the advice. I've been struggling to do reviews of late and really want to do something different with the types of movies I review. I think I enjoy analysing movies more than just doing your basic review. Cheers

At the time of the review (which was a while ago) i was just getting into Lars Von Trier and wasn't aware of the dogman 95. And to me it was something new as in I hadn't seen a musical done in such a way. and to me it does feel like a documentary style film. In my opinion
