Believe it or not, Kai has started out with jazz and ballet but it's amazing that he has this perfect hip hop vibe. His versatility is insane, I guess you have to be born with a gift. The 2 dancers with him at the beginning are top choreographers. I strongly recommend FILM:KAI. It will give you an idea of how much of an all rounder Kai is, plus you will hear some top tier music and watch incredible cinematography.

yeah kai is known as one of the best dancers in kpop along with taemin, i remember kai won best kpop dancer voted for by other idol dancers and so many choreographers praise him and even joke around that kai could take their jobs lol. he's so talented and he has a background in contemporary and ballet and later on hip-hop, he even said that if he wasn't an idol then he probably would have been a ballerino. i definitely recommend watching kai:film, it was all him creativity wise and whatnot, i think you and your film buddy would like watching that together. for his solo choreographies for his music then mmmh and peaches.

Kai's love for dance started with jazz and ballet. From a young age, he began training to become a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That is why I think you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child, he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole foundation with dance began with ballet. He says, that if he hadn't been bribed by his father to audition for SM Entertainment, and if he hadn't become a Kpop star, he probably would be a professional ballarino today. But what you are seeing is the whole reason why Kai is considered one of the top two dancers in the industry, because there is pretty much no style of dance that he can't do, and he does it better than almost everyone. (Taemin from SHINee -- who is also an SM artist and Kai's best friend since trainee days, as well as a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) And the title of the industry's BEST dancer isn't just a fan's opinion, but it's a widely agreed upon title bestowed on both Kai and Taemin by their peers and the industry as a whole. There is literally no one considered better than them. Kai became a trainee with SM Entertainment when he was about 12 -- he debuted with EXO when he was around 18 -- so he has been honing his skills and dedicating himself to become one of the best in the industry for years. And now, at 28, he has literally been recognized as one of the best of the best. And not only is he an amazing dancer, but in live performances he is singing live while dancing this intensely. As a member of EXO and an SM Entertainment artist, he has trained his whole career to able to sing live while performing high energy choreography and he can do it for hours and still sound flawless the entire time. Kai is also considered one of the sexiest Kpop idols, and he is known for his super sexy onstage personality. However, when not on stage he is the complete opposite of what you see here. He is actually kind of shy and innocent and he blushes when you compliment him for his looks or his performance. On a side note: The more you see from SM's top artists and groups, you might even start to recognize some of the backup dancers. Because there are only a select few people that can keep up with people like Kai and Taemin, and match their dance style and precision. So, when SM finds dancers that are exceptional, they hold on to them for as long as they can and they use them in almost everything. Also, several of the dancers are also choreographers -- and many times the choreographers who choreograph the dances are also one of the dancers -- so their skill level is far beyond the average dancer. The dancers you see in Kai's and Taemin's MVs are usually most of the same dancers they use for concerts and live performances. They are SM dancers, which means they are used as backup dancers in a lot of SM's other groups' projects as well. Most of Kai's dancers are also Taemin's dancers and some have also been BoA's, Super Junior's and TVXQ's dancers, for example.

This is Kai from EXO. 'Reason' is one of the songs from his first solo mini album (self named) "KAI". For this mini album he released FILM: KAI which is a compilation of all the songs on the album + amazing choreography + mind-blowing cinematography. He's been dancing for YEARS. He started ballet training in third grade and started jazz in fourth grade. When he became a trainee for SM Ent he started to learn lots of different styles. For this solo debut, Kai held auditions to select the background dancers, and a big part of them are choreographers themselves! He is one of, if not, the best dancer in Kpop. I would recommend you to watch 'Peaches' dance practice and 'Mmmh' dance practice, also the solo stages 'Confession' and 'Spoiler'

Yess Kai be eatin this hiphop choreo but his main background was actually jazz and ballet when he was young. He trained for a few years in their company tho and eventually learned other dance genres..which now made him become an all rounder and arguably the best dancer in kpop. Choreographers and dancers all have high praises for him, like u do, and one kpop choreographer even said that they are glad kai didnt pursue choreographing dances cuz he would just dominate lol he is just a monster when he dances and it's not just bcs he has the talent but bcs he is crazy passionate abt dancing. He maximized his potential and worked hard to be where he is now. The man deserves all praise tbh

KAI is part of EXO (same group as LAY ZHANG) and is considered as one of the best idol dancers. He is EXO center hence the CONFIDENCE. This was prolly also choreographed by Kasper same as Lay's Honey coz it had the same vibe but I'm not sure it is just a guess.
