I drove a semi for 5 years. I promise you he absolutely did not know that man was up there. There is no way to see the top of your trailer and someone jumping on it, even screaming at the top of their lungs isn't likely to be heard. The sad part is, this will hurt that drivers career. The way it works this will be listed as an accident with fatality, which will limit the jobs he can get and makes negotiation for a raise very difficult. It really sucks, but that's how it works.

Can confirm. Was a truck driver for six years. The only "incident" I had the first few years was someone backing into me at a truck stop while I wasn't even in the truck - I was taking a shower. Still listed as an incident even though I had absolutely nothing it do with it. It's always come up in interviews when I switch companies. It's up to the company to decide if it's something that will prevent you from being hireable or for getting the promotion, but it's up to their discretion and it is there in your record. It cost me a promotion.

I felt it when Preach talked about the feeling of a parent who sees their kid for for such a dumb reason. There have been many things I’ve decided NOT to do exclusively because it will hurt my Indian parents. When my American friends used to say ‘It’s your life’, I felt like they were missing the point. My parents don’t control me but I value their sacrifices and their feelings and concerns bc of how much they care about me and worry about me and put their lives on hold to raise me and my siblings. It’s so disrespectful and disgusting to throw that back in their face

Stigma has evaporated in our era, and along with it much of the constant, small-scale self-regulation of the community, which depends on each individual's respect for, and fear of, other people's judgment and consequences. My view is that shame is regarded as hateful and form of oppression. People discard it in a bid for perceived inner freedom. They believe that the genial pressure of manners, morals, and customs-enforced by the various forms of disapproval, stigma, shame, and reproach have no place in modern society since everyone should be able to express their 'truths' at most levels without guilt. If you've ever hung around online spaces, you'll quickly find many think of shame as bigoted, even if it's warrented. Inner shame gets called self-loathing and shaming someone else gets you labeled a hater regardless of how it was meant or delivered. Alot of shame is warrented and actually helps society function by having some form of sanction against bad actions. Laws don't prevent crime and stupidity as much as raising people with strong morals, common sense, and developing a conscious which often requires shame. No conscious = no guilt. Tl:dr people want to do stupid shit without consequences, and much of modern society thinks shame is bad because it hurts people's feelings, even though we need a level of shame for society to function properly.

I work for the NYC subway system as a supervisor. The newest trend here is for this kids to "surf" on top of moving train cars. Over the last few years, we've had kids getting killed for internet fame and clout doing something incredibly dangerous. This social media and the need for attention is destroying people's common sense. This is mass madness.

I could have drug that dude 100 miles without knowing it. I was fully loaded almost 80,000 lbs with Jim Beam, i just got loaded with in Maryland. I used to drive a rig around London. On new years eve 1998, I was taking a left turn on Haymarket into Trafalgar Square. As I took both lanes up to make the turn, I felt a bump like I'd driven too fast over a speed bump. As I straightened up I saw a car in my mirror. I stopped to look and found my 6 left rears had driven over his bonnet. The driver of the car had tried to cut down the left side of me. I had squashed the car into the road. Luckily only the front half, from the windscreen forward and the driver and passenger were OK. But the fact is, it did not feel like what had actually happened. 25ft ahead and 8 ft up in my cab, there was no personal connection to what was going on back there. No sound, just a small bump. The destruction was amazing. The entire front of the car was flat with a sort of lump in the middle where the engine was. My point is, I don't know if the driver of This truck was in on it and is denying everything, but if he wasn't, he would have zero knowledge of someone jumping around on the back.

When i was a teenager we used to do this in our pickup trucks, but we'd just be surfing, not doing stupid dances, nothing was posted because we feared our parents, and we'd be on the dirt, a little more forgiving than the pavement. Last time i did it i fell out and did a 30 mph scorpion. That was enough for me, no more truck surfing, i learned my lesson with my life intact. So i see this and i feel its in the same vein, but its social media that makes people take it too far, kids have been doing dumb dangerous stuff since forever, but now they always gotta one up something somebody else did, as soon as that camera hits them, their IQ and sense of self preservation drops to near zero.

Yeah it just depends on how well they can cope. Most if not all train conductors have killed at least one person on the job, but they could have none literally nothing to stop it, it was just due to the incompetence of the driver trying to beat the train at a crossing. Some of them say "it's not gonna bother it was their own damn fault" but most of them don't talk about it like that. Everyone's life has value to it, what if this tiktoker in the video was a young kid who just needed a few more years to realize how stupid this was. On the random food topic: worst fusion I ever tried I didn't know was a fusion... It looked like good old Indian Pani Puris (golgappas). It was Fancy place, the food was dressed up, I noticed the Puris came prefilled with yogurt already on top, cool. I add the water and take a bite. That's not dehi on top (savory Indian yogurt)... That's whipped cream 🤮🤮 For those who don't know, golgappas are salty / savory and tangy taste combo, they're delicious. This is like adding whipped cream on top of an egg salad sandwich.

Companies are probably now going to start putting sensors or cameras on the top of their trucks if theu haven't already 🚛. I really hope the truck driver isnt held responsible in anyway for this. Whatever social security or death benefit if there is one, should be sued for the amount of whatever the fine would have been if the guy on the truck had lived.

His family is going to sue the trucking company for not having greater measures to keep people off the top of trucks.....just wait....

Wrong. That video is mad old, from 2022. Nobody sued the truck company. Idk why they're reacting to OLD ass news literally from YEARS ago

@@meenism Go on somewhere wit yo "actually" ass. It was a joke. That is what people do these days when their family does something this dumb. They are reacting to this old ass video that is still relevant because they can. Jesus....eat a snickers.

Even if this was a recent video the backlash from the public (if they did try) would be monumental
