Thank you for your response, Emma did not choose the song, this song was written by Tjeerd Oosterhuis 22 years ago, but he did not release it. After hearing Emma last year at Andre's, Tjeerd decided to offer the song to Emma and the song fits Emma and her life perfectly, so you chose the song for Emma, who brings him a beautiful and loving message.

This song is written 20 years ago, but Emma is the first singer who takes it on... It's amazing to me that a song which is not specially written for her, could have been written for her. Just 3 day's before this performance Emma had her feeding tubes replaced in hospital (must be done every 5 months). And make no mistake: this is a real ordeal, because Emma has decided a few years ago to let it be done without anesthesia and a tube in her throat. The day after this surgery Emma already showed up at the final rehearsals for these shows, and here she is.... pulling this off. What a champion!! In a recent interview Emma has explained it this way: "When I was 13 I have decided to choose for my voice because I want to sing and perform". In the same interview, which was attended by André Rieu as well, André told that he wants to help Emma as much as he can because she deserves that: "Emma is a "pro", she is kind, very disciplined, knows what she wants, works hard. And 'Emma is just Emma' and not a diva. I really love it to work with her". Well this year, as André told in this video, Emma is with him and his orchestra on World Tour. Her mother is also on tour with Emma, to provide the extra care she needs. Seeing her on stage you can have the impression Emma "is a rock, full of energy", but she isn't. Emma is always very low on energy because of the condition she has and she has to plan everything she does very carefully because of that. Members of the orchestra are helping her with her on-line school work, so really every body is taking care of her, to make it possible for Emma to live her dream. And then there is "trust": did you see that in fact the orchestra is following Emma from start to finish when she performs? That is trust. When André Rieu would have the slightest doubt about Emma's musicality in that matter, he would not allow that to happen. No, when he had doubts he would demand that Emma followed the orchestra instead. By the way, I think that first note the piano played was to be sure Emma picked up the right note after her speech (kind of a "safety measure", so to say). And final point: speaking in public is a challenge for many people, no matter the age. And Emma does it completely relaxed in a foreign language (she is Dutch) and in front of 12500 people....

Well spoken 😊 To explain how low she is on energie...... Emma was a few days on holiday in Portugal. And she had been swimming a bit to much and so she had to spend the rest of the day in a weelchair. When I see the pictures or intervieuws of Emma you see the big bag with te pomps inside that she has to carrie whole day and the tubes which you see arround her body then you see how se has to fight every day. I have an unbelieveble respect for this brave girl❤❤❤

6:06 - yes she did literally choose it. The composer wrotes it years before she was born, and it waited on his shelf for Emma to come and find it while she was working with him. Some things are just meant.

Thanks for your reaction , we went to the concert of Andre Rieu at Maastricht , right in front of the stage at about 35 meters distance. Just as Emma started singing, an emotional bomb exploded in the square with the song DANCING ON THE STARTS and afterwards VOILA which earned a standing ovation for several minutes. Her beautiful voice touches your soul with the support of the orchestra, an evening to remember for a livetime. .

I saw Andre in London this May, and he had Emma with him, singing 'Voila'. He said that people ask him how he chooses which piece to play, which instrument to solo, which guest to sing, and he gives the same answer every time - 'from the heart.' It's why his shows are such a celebration of music and community from start to finish! ;-)

Thank you for reacting so positively and visibly to another sublime performance by Emma, probably her best performance yet, 12 months ago, many of us saw Emma's debut with Andre at Maastricht, singing Voila, and when we considered what she delivered, we regarded it as perfection, and a lot of people agreed with us, 63 Million views on KZbin alone, and huge numbers on other social media sites, she well and truly went viral with that song, and has done incredibly well with many other songs with Andre and with others over the last year. Now, earlier this year, she went to Andre with this new song, never sung before, and Andre saw the huge potential of it, and they have worked their magic on it, and in the process, redefined the definition of perfection, this song raised the bar considerably, and then Emma gave a gold medal performance that went so much higher again, with this new song, she showed how much she has learned over this incredible year by working with the best, and by putting what she's learnt into her performances, and this performance was just wonderful, and the vast majority of listeners were emotional before she sang a word, after those emotional and deep words from Andre and Emma, she had everyone in the palm of her hand, and then she went into full on emotional song delivery mode, on several occasions, you can see her eyes change, her lips curl, and she delivers a audible explosion that devastates everything around her, as she goes into full on belter mode, and that's before she delivers those incredible powerful top notes at the end, I still can't fully understand how she manages to deliver such powerful and sustained notes from that tiny frame, but she well and truly does exactly that, very much aided and supported by Andre and the orchestra, who build the song to that wonderful climax with the key change and those incredible top notes. Emma has also matured over the last 12 months, I can't remember another guest star who has appeared at interviews with Andre on so many occasions, being fluent in 3 languages, Dutch, German and English is a huge help in that respect, but Emma comes across incredibly well in interviews, and has clearly impressed Andre with the way she has become a much loved member of the JSO, and her age is no hurdle, she has a maturity that goes so far beyond her years. Dancing on the stars has only been on KZbin for a month, it's now gone to close on 5 Million views, and has been trending on KZbin on several occasions, and I won't be surprised if the viewing figures are higher than the figures for Voila this time next year. The song is not as such new, it was penned 20 years ago, before Emma was born, but it's never been performed until now, that said, the writer has written two other songs in recent years for Emma, LAAT MIJ EEN VLINDER ZIJN , let me be a butterfly kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHLWm6OkpayMaK8 and Strijder kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH2TeH-ao7x4gc0 While Emma had significant stage experience, Voila was her first appearance with Andre, and the first ever performance of the new version of the song, Emma had learned it because the words so express her life experience, to expand a little on her health issues, she was born with Gastroparesis, a paralysed stomach, and to keep her alive, she was put on tube feeding at 9 MONTHS, for 22 hours a day, so she's never had the experience of eating normally, she can only eat very small pieces of rice cracker, with slivers of other foods on them to let her experience the flavours, so effectively, she cannot share in any of the normal experience of meals with other family members, or close friends, and to make it worse, as the medical profession struggled to diagnose her, they didn't fully diagnose her till she was 10, during those intervening years, things like her gag reflex was damaged, so she can't vomit, which is a serious issue for her condition, as her stomach doesn't properly process and pass food through, and vomiting would be a regular issue for most sufferers of this disease. In addition, her growth was significantly delayed, even now, at 16, she's still only 1 Mtr 50, and weighs around 50 Kg, so still tiny, and as a result, her stamina is significantly reduced compared to most, she struggles to climb more than 2 flights of stairs, even walking longer distances such as through a large airport is a challenge, made worse by carrying 2 feeding pumps in a shoulder bag or similar for 22 hours a day, the equivalent of a boat anchor, but she absolutely refuses to allow her disease to define her, and is determined to live as normal a life as possible, but on a bad day, she may have to resort to using a wheelchair because of fatigue. Her first ever appearance in a show, during Covid, so no audience, was in 2020, she was a tiny 12 at the time, she sang a powerful version of 'Opportunity', kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX7conapa9-NhpY I love the way she ends it with a spoken, 'I guarantee', and that beautiful smile that says she absolutely meant it, and at the same time knew she'd just nailed that performance, it happens a lot, it was the same with Voila, she turned to Andre, arms wide, with a smile, no words, but it was clear what she meant, 'How was that?', and Andre's response said it all, one word, 'Fantastic', the embrace and bringing her back for more of the standing ovation, a wonderful moment and they happen very regularly. Her next major appearance was the Voice Kids contest in 2021, which she won, kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGHKiZyhg7edmNE A very different event, she performed with the Maastricht Star Male Voice choir, singing 'Hallelujah', kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWTYpJ6haNSVoLc A later even stronger performance of a different version of Hallelujah, for Christmas TV, kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6K5eYSrhbaompI Earlier this year, Emma was honoured to be asked to perform as part of the annual commemoration events in May to remember the huge number of lives lost liberating the Netherlands from German occupation in WWII, she sang at several events across the country, the most prominent being a duet with April Darby, singing ' When you believe', kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3ibiIlnfKunlcU This concert was in Amsterdam, in the presence of the Dutch Royal family, and she absolutely nailed the performance. For me, her strongest performance, a Demi Levato cover of a technically challenging song, 'Father', kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIm6c51tYsqXjbc From the same concert, another cover, 'Hero', kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKDLgWOMaKp2iLs From the same series of concerts, 'You raise me up', kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHq7c2qKl8qArNk A beautiful home video recorded several years ago during Covid, A Disney film cover, 'Part Of Your World' - @halle (The little mermaid) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6XbpGCXg96FgLs Another song that is special to Emma because of her health situation, a Miley Cyrus cover, 'The Climb', recorded for Tube feeding week. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moDLq596etp2eMk When I Get There - @PinkVideoVault, unaccompanied, a song about the passing of a very close friend, given Emma's own situation, so incredibly deep and moving, just incredible. Translation of the note in Dutch, Last night my dear friend Angela became a star! I'm going to miss you incredibly much, but every time I look at the starry sky I know you're looking back kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp-soYFua9KqbKc I hope this gives you a feel for where Emma has come from, and more importantly, where she's going, there is no doubt that as long as her health situation doesn't worsen, she will be making bigger and better waves for a long time to come, and it's more than clear that she is very happy and comfortable working with Andre and his orchestra at the moment, I am hoping that will continue beyond the end of the 2024 tour season, while it's also good that she can and does do other work outside of the significant demands of the world tour with Andre. I will close with my normal appeal to everyone reading or listening to this channel, Emma deserves and needs as much support as possible, as her foundation works to help find better treatments, or even possibly a cure for this awful disease, her situation hasn't changed since that first appearance with Andre last July, she is still tied to her two external feeding pumps for 22 hours a day, and I know from recent social media posts, she finds the discipline, restrictions and limitations on her life more than hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. Please also be very careful if you post or respond to anything from Emma on social media, her increased visibility has resulted in significant numbers of bad actors creating fake accounts, and looking for money to fund 'special operations', or a whole range of other deceptions, they are all fake and fraudulent, and beneath contempt. One of the main people in Gastrostars is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in treating gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.

Top.

The song was actually her first original. That man in the audience that wrote it. He wrote that 20 some years ago and has been waiting for the right person to sing it. Now it’s hers. It was suggested for her. And it’s perfect. She does not sing a bad song ever. I really don’t think most are moved due to her illness. She is just incredible no matter what. They are all watching history in the making. We are all glad to be alive to witness this remarkable young woman.

Emma is an amazing and very special girl. She has a very high level of consciousness, much higher than her peers and most adults. This high consciousness level enables her to project high levels of positive energy to her listeners. With a large audience, she is able to connect to the collective consciousness of the audience which enhances the perceptions of the listeners, created a spiritual and awe inspiring experience. Emma possesses a lot of power but only uses it in positive ways. She is undoubtedly the best young spiritual singer in the world and she is becoming a legend. To know Emma the singer is to love her. She also gives unconditional love to all and is such an extraordinary girl that I believe she is an angel. By the way, very few people exhibit true unconditional love and that is a characteristic of her high consciousness level and her connection to the universal consciousness. Emma is so special to the world that we must do all we can to support her and her foundation. We who have listened to her know her importance to all of us worldwide. We need Emma to sing to us in America. We need to get all our political parties together and force-feed Emma’s beautiful songs to them to reset their souls to understand that we all have souls and all souls survive forever and are part of the universal consciousness. We have to remember that we have our bodies and its brain, and the ego, which are all separate of our soul. It is this ego and mind that we tend to identify with as “me”. It is also based on many faulty assumptions, prejudices, and other corrupting concepts. It is what constitutes our identity. The soul is often missing as part of how we identity ourselves. Sad! But Emma is awaking the souls of her listeners. It would be nice to see some of the nasty in this world recognized as such and to see people cast aside negative values and emotions and recognize that they are making them more animal-like in forming their identity. And it drains one of energy. Emma can help steer us in the right direction.😊

She is really very special. But I want to talk about you two as well. I think it's special that the both of you are able to find the right words watching the video of her performance. I envy you about that.... And what I really like is the fact that in your video the both of you are "small" in the right and left corner of the screen and the artist (in this case Emma) is there full screen. That's the way it should be and not like many other reactors. You see them full screen and the artist they are reacting to is somewhere small in the screen as if they are not important.......

Today at 5pm (CET) Emma announced her very own concert for October 2025 at the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam. At 7pm Emma appeared on the 'Carrie on Friday' show on Dutch TV to further announce the news. After she was interviewed she sang John Lennon's 'Imagine', by the time she finished singing the concert was fully sold out! Here is Emma from this evening singing 'Imagine'; with TV quality audio / video - its magnificent. Plus, along with other first class musicians, her brother Enzo accompanied her on violin; how cool is that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqGkeqSved6Vns0

This is esoterica, but her speech delivery sounds exactly like the kid who played the Maharaja in Temple of Doom.

16 years old! And English is not her first mother tongue. Against 12,000 people, Although education in the Netherlands is at a high level. Everyone who follows the education system in the Netherlands also learns English at every level of education. And everyone has to follow the education system, because if you don't, the government will be at your door the next day. So if you come to the Netherlands, you can just speak English
