I think a big one that would have helped me when I was young was dancing with my head/neck. It wasn't something I was really taught... but it would have made a huge difference.... it almost makes the dancing look more confident.

To this day I think the thing that made me get NOTICEABLY better was watching SO many videos of professionals. Every time you are in the mirror dancing your brain will start to tell you how you need to tweak your body into something it has seen before. It’s kind of crazy how much it made, and continues to make me WAY better.

Thank you sm Mackenzie. I’m 12 and I have been doing ballet for almost 8 years now. I’m not a good ballet dancer tough. Like I just panic so much and screw up. We’re preparing to Alice in wonderland and I really want a solo role so this helped me a lot. Please do more tutorials on how to do specific ballet moves, and more tutorials like this! Again, this helped me a LOT! Keep up the great work ❤❤ Edit: While I was rewatching some ballet videos, I found my comment and I wanted to update how it’s going for me! I couldn’t get a solo yet, but Im dancing much better now and I feel like I’ve improved a lot. Im also dancing on pointe now so yeah! Im gonna enter a ballet exam next week and I have to do a solo dance, I’ll probably update this in a few years, I hope I get a solo next yearr❤❤ (Im 13 now:))

Watching professionals really helps you adopt their artistry and mannerisms and that translates to your stage presence and expression and really helps with your overall performance quality outside of technique

Im 14 and I used to do dance when I was younger. I sadly quit because I unfortunately got bullied by the kids and even the teachers. For a couple of years now I’ve been wanting to get back into it again, but I’ve been afraid. I decided to start dancing at home to get more comfortable and confident, so when I watched this video I found this super helpful! Thank you so much ❤

Thank you! this really helped me! I just came back from a year break of dance because of some leg pain ever since last november. I wanted to get back into dance and when i got back i improved by doing some of the stuff you said in your video, it turns out that i was better at dance now than before my leg pain started. I was able to balance longer and my pirouettes were a lot better to the point that i could actually do two turns. This journey has been very difficult but with video it made a whole lot easier, keep in mind i’m 12 now.
