Cool to see this. I did this a lot about 20 years ago. In my experience, using acetate sheets (cheap at any craft store) makes great reusable stencils that will provide crisp lines. Another thing to grab while at the craft store is "textile medium", which gets mixed with any acrylic paint and will make it more flexible and durable. If you're broke or agoraphobic like me, you can mix hair conditioner with acrylic paint to acheive similar results. "Heat setting" will also prolong the life of your work. I do this by placing a paper bag over the print area and ironing it (after its dry). This melts the acrylic paint into the fibers of your fabric.

SOME ADVICE: i mostly do embroidery on my vests, been digging the stamp patch style lately, i made few of my own but they ended up degrading really fast because (A.) Unfinished sides mean unraveling of the patch, so use an antifray glue on the edges, a crap ton of paint, or sew half an inch in on to your vests. (B.) Make sure to use black, dark navy, or a blood red as your base fabric color, cause its gonna get dirty as fuck when youre moshing against 90 other sweaty dudes in equally dirty vests, and its gonna show. An intricate white patch is gonna get fucked.(C) not a problem i faced, but make sure you use a waterproof paint like acrylic or fabric paint, or else your patch will bleed when wet. Good luck dudes

Alsoooo if you just learned after several weeks that printer ink is expensive, Instead of printing the logo, you can simply find the image on your screen, (computer or large tablet) To the life size size you want your patch to be, then put lined or printer paper over the screen with tape or a clip, and trace the logo, Then continue with steps after printing in this video.

It actually works pretty well..Just cant have it out in rain. so if anyone else doesn't have the materials either...i suppose this is a good idea too I've been doing things on my own with no help or that much inspiration for a few years and for some reason now all of the sudden i look for inspiration :,)

Found a similar way with other things i found at Home, because your way did bleed very much (cuz i use Acrylpaint) So First: you do the same, Print or Draw a logo, but then you use this Plastik packet tape, put it on both sides, and If you are messy with paint, secure the edges with sumfin like tesafilm. You can now cut it out with small scissors. The paint bleeds a bit more but its not "that" bad. (U can just remove the bleeded Paint with an Permanent Marker) When you use the Paint, also secure the stencil with glue or sumfin. Youll see a bit white leftovers but if you wear the Patches a few days it'll be gone. Thats how it worked best for me, let me know if someone has questions
@t.s.51174 жыл бұрын
Also I used Make-up Sponges, cuz im fuckin poor and dont own a cool sponge. If you do more layers the Paint will be more White but maybe also bleed more...you can blowdry it in between, but at a cold level.
