We loved it! Such an incredible place - we could've spent weeks just in and around the national park, so beautiful!

I run a restaurant in Tassie and welcomed some folks from Virginia Beach just today. Always happy to share our beautiful island with our American friends.

Shortly after moving to Tassie, I went for a walk in the bush near my place at Mt Nelson. It was a weekday morning, so no one was about. I reached a clearing and suddenly heard this unholy sound. Only upon getting home and listening to sounds on KZbin did I realise I'd been hearing Tassie Devils - I must have disturbed them as the first human to come through. I didn't realise they lived around Hobart, but apparently a family in Sandy Bay in the middle of Hobart found a Devil under their house recently. Pretty amazing intro to my new home. Since moving to Mt Nelson, I've seen thousands of wallabies and pademelons (they eat my plants if I leave my gate open), and a few echidnas (a friend from Brazil saw one in my yard), bandicoots (a family live in my yard), and even a few platypuses in the rivulets that run off the mountain (more of a hill, Mt Nelson is only a quarter of the height of kunanyi). Yet to actually see a Devil, but I've definitely heard them.

Thats a bit of a scary thought haha, they really are a unique noise huh!? If we hadn't heard them in this environment we would never have known what they sound like either

Now, I discovered that cartoons lied to us - they're not spinning tornadoes, but they sure know how to throw a tantrum! They're very cuddly as it seems. This is why the desire to visit Tasmania gets really strong. Hopefully, my travel dart would perfectly land in this place.

Haha that's what we thought as kids too! Fingers crossed the dart lands where you want it to!

Isn’t Cradle Mountain amazing and Rorey at the sanctuary is so full of knowledge. We went for the feeding and was blown away. We just got back about a month ago and really enjoyed Tassie! Katie

lol "wombat poo" someone did that on purpose for sure XD That path though! A lot steeper in parts that I thought they were! I love how Tassie Devils look so cuddly and sound like murder. Several murders XD

Haha all the murders! We were shooketh from their noises!

The devils sound like zombies from the walking dead. Wish Tassie Tigers were still alive. Great series.

Haha that's the best description, wish we thought of that!

It's our state's great shame that the tigers aren't still around. You can still see their little cousins the quolls, though.

Are you sure that was wombat poo you were looking at? Square poo = wombat poo - round poo = any other mammal, marsupial etc… 😉 I’ve not been any place where you see copious amounts of wombat poo….. ??

loads of wombat poo at Cradle

@@DanegerAndStacey 😂😂😂 I must admit, I’m probably the only person in the whole of Australia who grew up in Tassie & never went to Cradle Mountain, so I really can’t comment on how much wombat poo was there 😂😂😂😂
