Tarps on Tarps! What a project. Those hatches turned out great. Awesome video.

There was never an old boat that wasn't a project! lol

Welcome to boat ownership, a hole in the water you throw money into, while fighting to keep freshwater out and seawater at bay, yup my corporate sponsors are marine supply and Amazon, good work on the hatches, sweat equity always feels good, not sure if this is your forever boat but any projects completed are great experience and build confidence, when your partner asks you say we got this babe. Good luck and sail on. 😊

Not our forever boat, but definitely our 'for the foreseeable future' boat. And as I learned as a child, 'leave things better than you found them'.

You should check out those chain plates for any strength limiting corrosion from the leaks nearby.

Yeah, all the chain plates need replacing.

Just try fitting a closed cell foam Rubber door sealing strip round the cockpit hatch floor lip.. the other option is cork .. Take the pressure off it by supporting the duck board.. where its on the fixed floor. Ive heard Leaky Tiki but thats a new on to me.😉🧙🏻♂️ Dont expect the expected weather wise .. we are moving from El ninio to an El ninia event and things are getting hotter so more cloudburst.. Speaking from an increasingly soggy Europe 🇬🇧

Good call on the rubber door sealing strip. I'm gonna give that a try!

@@OffshoreEsprit Make sure it's closed cell stuff or it will just soak through though.🧙🏻♂️👍🏻

DON’T USE SILICONE! Big mistake. You’ll never be able to remove all completely later on. Silicone is for bathrooms , not boats. Use a marine grade sealant.

Copy that.

Try not to use steel nails on the boat. Investigate iron sickness, at least try to use galvanized. Your battle against water incursion seems to be working!

Hoping the wood glue does it's job and hold everything together. The nails were just there to help out a bit. But I see your point!
