Riding the dangerous Hagerman pass in Colorado on a motorcycle is tough. Riding a motorcycle with one arm is incredibly challenging. Riding a motorcycle with one arm on Colorado’s famous passes is just crazy. Watch David overcome his disability by saying “NO” to whatever fear he may have to attempt to conquer the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route on a Honda 450 RL.
This adventure will take us through some of Colorado’s hidden dirt roads and infamous rugged trails that few people will ever experience.
The #COBDR is mostly dirt roads across the state. We take some of the most difficult passes and most remote backcountry routes offered by this incredible map.
I want you to comment so I can hear from you on your thoughts on this one. I think you are going to love this guys story. We will bring you beautiful drone shots and great riding footage accompanied by a few crashes along the way.
This video is episode three of the COBDR (Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route) This episode starts in Gypsum CO and ends at Buena Vista Colorado. This is also known as section 4 of the COBDR

As an old guy who’d never been on a bike until my mid-fifties, I was lucky enough to fall in with a great group of younger riders who mentored me. We’ve done several of the BDR’s over the last ten years, including CO. I considered Hagerman one of the toughest for me, especial that one rocky climb. Meeting David online as he considered buying my KTM 500 is inspiring. To do what he does is truly over the top in never giving in to your assumed limitations. At 82, I don’t know how much is left, but I hope I”m lucky enough to keep on for a bit more. David shows me to not impose limits on what we can do. Whistler

Brock, your approach to the situation when the gentleman fell off the side of the trail was absolutely spot on. Stop and assess the situation and figure it out first 👍. So many of us just jump immediately into action and try to lift the bike. Which typically compounds the recovery effort.
@MotoMission.

Hey. Thanks for saying that. I was worried he was gin a hold on to the bike as it slid over the edge. I just didn’t want someone to get hurt Glad we had the group involved to recover the bike. It was a tricky situation.

The views are breath taking, the friendships are everlasting and David is inspiring! I have had the pleasure of racing a harescramble with a gentleman who had a prostetic clutch hand. I learned quickly not to complain about how sore i was, because he was absolutely amazing out there and never complained once. I believe the Lord places people in our lives for a reason and i feel truly blessed to have met so many inspirational people. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure and new found friendships!

That pass ain’t easy. The camera doesn’t show how steep it is. And the rocks are bigger in real life. Dave and I were just talking about the video and shocked at how small the rocks look and how flat it looks. I guess you just gotta go with me next time and see for your self. Let’s ride !

Many thanks to Brock, David, Kory, Doug. And Auni. Couldn’t ask for a better group. (Husky starter turned out to be the clutch safety switch. I bypassed it and didn’t have any other issues). Hagerman pass was a great time. Everyone passing thru was so happy to be there.

Stunning scenery and some challenging tracks up those passes. Very impressed with David taking it all in stride. That adds credence to the BMW training on riding one-handed and in various states of balance with foot position. Brock, you're a welcome addition to any group.

Stinkin epic! I rode that in late August and dropped my bike right where David started into Hagerman Pass. It took 3 of us to get it upright and I decided to turn around and take highway through Aspen over Independence Pass to Buena Vista. The cool thing for me was I got to ride Frying Pan Road around Rudi Reservoir. Best pavement in Colorado, trust me! So much fun. Glad you’re making these videos and it’s awesome to see you riding with David. Maybe I’ll get to ride with you someday as well.
