Sarah, I use to assemble those tapes as a teenager. We had a factory that produced the tapes and vinyl records. Years later after it closed Sony took over and we produced CD's, DVD's, mini discs, PlayStation games and LD's. Sony recently closed here after about 40 years in the area.

I watch a number of mud larking channels and it always amazes me, the amount of lead, found along river banks and the foreshores in the UK. It rather frightens me actually. As a child, we spent our summers on the shores of a small lake that had been used for duck hunting. There was so much lead shot in the water that the swans that landed on the lake during their spring migration would loose many of their numbers due to lead poisoning. I'll never forget the beautiful sunrises, only to see highlighted, the white, lifeless bodies floating on the lake, every morning for weeks.

Another wonderful vicarious voyage of discovery with you, and I love you all for it! I like following a number of you intrepid mudlarkers' channels, but you gals are my favorite! I really appreciate your music, editing (and editing in the pop ups of cleaned up finds/info during the search). Just lovely. Bring us back to this site often, it seems like a real treasure trove! BUT PLEASE !!! Friends, DO start wearing gloves at these sites. You really don't know what kind of chemicals are mixed into the earth at these old sites. I cringe watching you brushing off the muck with your bare hands. Protect yourselves, please? Take care, all.

the glass stand should go in the window and the little lead pig Alex found as he was so detailed and whole I also loved the skull and know Alex does too. What a great place to go and I hope you go again soon as it was so very interesting with all the lead finds and small poisons. the coffee pot thing was unusual too.
