Are they still putting out music? I loved these fuckers in the 80's. Riffs were badass and his voice was wildly on point for the time. If he still has a voice after all these years I'd be surprised, just because of his style and tenacity it wouldn't surprise me if he burned those vocal cords to the root. DT viciously wicked rock of the 80's 🤘

Have not heard it in a few years, but could still "sing" along. Yeah, I cannot sing. Always loved this since vid came out back in the day, or whenever I first saw it. My 4 year old had an off day today, and I somehow thought of this song after talking with my wife about his day/last few days.

Back in 88,89 I was at astroworld in Houston waiting inline to ride a rollercoaster and standing in the line in front of us were these guys,they were a bunch of cool dudes...I think if they had got together a few years earlier they might've had a bigger impact music wise and would probably still be around but they didn't come out until 88,89 & grunge was just around the corner so that's one of the reasons I think they're so underappreciated...

I loved this when it first came out! Couldn't get enough, me and my lover and his best buddy partying to this nonstop. Went to the concert in a terrible snowstorm. I think they were playing with the Scorpions or some big headliner. We were up in the front row and I was being flirted with like mad from the guys in the band. But my jealous boyfriend and I had already had so much fun to this music, that a little flirtation was meaningless and just kinda funny, even ironic. I later studied psychology and dreams in college and found out that this song is about Sleep Paralysis, a subject I took interest in. LOL LOVED this stuff and this whole album. Thanks Dangerous Toys for a great time.
@samjose7519 жыл бұрын
In 1990 I had multiple occurrences with sleep paralysis, but had no idea there was a name for it til ten years ago. While being frozen/immobile but awake sparked curiosity for me in the past, it's become my reality today because I have ALS. I still dig this song though, like always 😜

+SweetDjehutyBlueEyes I never made that connection, interesting. My son and his friend talk about sleep paralysis a lot and they're in a band writing some crazy lyrics now. I always loved this song, and the 80s, but enjoyed the progressive bands that went away from the party style and got more in depth into the psyche, like Dream Theater. Still kind of fun to see bands like Steel Panther bring back the 80s party scene and spell it all out even more blatantly haha

Lyrics Dangerous Toys - Scared Who is the man in the white vest? I'm getting nervous, becoming a mess Is he the doctor's man to take me away? Or the same damn demon from yesterday? Waking up is virtually impossible Something in this story won't let me go You know I'm shaking and I'm feeling sick Guess i'm gonna need a vodka quick 1st Chorus : Momma's lace and whiskey on the top shelf Somehow they got caught up in my dream Monsters on my right and cobwebs on my left Scary man standin' right in front of me Hey man, I think I like being scared An' I wish you all were there Tomorrow, if i get my strength I'll put my daddy's gun to use I hate it, I hate it, feels like i'm drowning The man's tied me up and i think he's frowning Black widow is his favorite bite why does the creature cling so tight? Makes her crawl on my face and neck God, the man drives me a nervous wreck 2nd Chorus : Why am i starting to like this? You know he hasn't hurt me yet But it's different now, just a whim Maybe i'm becoming his pet 3rd Chorus : Hey man, I think i like being scared An' i wish you all were there Man i really, really think, really think that i think I like being scared

I saw DT and Motorhead open for Alice and Priest in 1992. It was a great set but we were deaf.

Great band. Kick ass vocals. They hit the scene late. There were alot of bands that did. Great bluesy groove. Dimebag loved these guys. And they are from Austin. Bass player from Orange, Texas. Love it.

In an era of great music, DT stood out. That Texas backbeat/scat/metal/guitar combo added to the vocals and lyrics, just…..wow. Glad I’m as old as I am to have experienced it first hand.

It doesn't matter what the creators of the song look like, what matters is the effect it has upon you--and it is a great song.

How the F did I not hear this song back in the day? This encompasses my entire love of hair metal. Great energy, fun lyrics and my favorite part... multiple part harmony in a very catchy chorus!! The only thing that I'm pissed off about is that I can't find any groups or forums to connect with like minded hair metalheads.
