And make sure you film it and show the world your good deeds on the social media platforms to feed your hero ego mentality and love your self even more and create a celebrity image in your ideologue's community filled with self-centered loons? Only self centered weaklings need to constantly feed their ego to feel this artificial love. Self centeredness and self love will always replace empathy. We help others because the urge to help others transcends our self love and we can only accomplish this amazing state when we are spiritually well.

That is so true when he said that we need to observe the family and the environment of the person we are dating. I married a very cold and disconnected man, after I married him I realized that his entire family is distant and disconnected from each other. His mother never calls him, his sisters never call him to check up on him, that's why he never called me to check up on me during the day. I divorced him! I can't live with a person like that for the rest of my life. I am invisible to him just like he is invisible to his family. That hurts a lot... I could have prevented all my suffering if I had observed him and his behaviors a little bit longer. Everything was right there in front of me, but I didn't know better. I didn't know that our pasts are connected to our futures. Unless you break the cycle.

I am an RN and I work at a mental health hospital. I resonate with this so so much. The stigma is such a huge issue and it brings lots of resistance to treatment options. As I listened to this conversation, I was thinking that there are a handful of risk factors associated with certain types diseases such as for heart disease, risk factors are smoking, high fat diet, obesity, substance abuse, diabetes and sedentary lifestyle. But what are the risk factors for mental illness? EVERYTHING. Being rich, poor, famous, unfamous, creative, uncreative, successful, unsuccessful, eating healty, not eating healthy, educated, uneducated, homeless, living in a mansion...you name it. ALL OF US are included in this "risk factor" list. Thank You Jay for sharing this. Your questions are on point. Daniel is inspiring. Loved every bit of this interview.

@dorothyjoycassilles10565 жыл бұрын
My psychiatrist explained the way mental illness is triggered by saying some people have a susceptibility hidden in their DNA. As stress accumulates in that persons life a point will be reached of the person being unable to cope with the stress build up and the brain/mind then trigger the symptoms of mental illness. Hope this helps.

Ego and anger can be useful when used in controlled, strategic ways. Tbh, I think this apathy/stoicism/detachment movement has its roots in imperialism to control the poor. Easier to control them if they want for nothing. You should want to be acquiring more wealth over time. You should want the odds in your favor. You should plan a decade ahead of everyone else. You should know what you want. You should NOT be apathetic, stoic or detached. Get a little mad. Do the work you need to. And WIN! Win as much as possible as often as possible (financially. Relationships are far different. Don't wage war against your allies.)

Happiness has a recipe. 1.Have a purpose that's achievable. 2. As you get closer to your goals outcome, you will start to feel a little better. 3. This will fire up your neurology and release endorphins and feel good hormones. 4. Consistency is the key to progress. 5. Enjoy what you do while solving problems. 6. The more you feel, feeling good, the better you become at it. 7. Express gratitude. 8. Pray and give thanks as if its already happened. 9. Positive affirmations that align with feelings, cause without them, the unconscious mind will ignore them. 10. Make positive lists and meditate on that which you wish to achieve using powerful visualisation techniques. 11. Design your ultimate and perfect day. In every detail, then engage in that blueprint. 12. Dont engage in negative self talk, neither in negative talk of others. Zip that shit up. 13. Put your mistakes behind you. Learn from them. That way, you never lose. Rather you win or you learn. 14. Smile when you awaken and do the same as you retire before sleep. 15. Celebrate being alive. 140000 didn't make it. Plus, you being here is 1 in 700 trillion. 16. Don't believe in miracles? I just proved it with number 15. 17. Now go and be the miracle you are.

This particular episode was just fantastic. I'm a huge fan of both Dr. Amen and you Mr. Shetty. I watch, read and take notes on content from the both of you. I remember I was around 12 when I first heard about brain scans and I was thinking how awesome it would be to have one done on myself. I've been struggling with mental illnesses/brain health issues since infancy. My first suicide attempt was at age nine. Naturally, things have only gotten worse and more complex through the years and despite being in therapy and on psych meds for the majority of my life, I've never been anywhere near what I would consider acceptably well or even just decent. I'm almost 36 now and have a twelve year old daughter, who is really the only reason I'm still breathing. I'm doing my best to try to educate myself in multiple areas in order to, not to sound dramatic, but essentially save my own life at this point. Brain health aside, I have numerous medical issues and chronic pain disorders I'm dealing with as well. I had to put my beloved dog down yesterday on top of everything and I'm just very near another breaking point. Quite frankly, it's just no way to be. Considering the many years of trauma, the multiple mental disorders and who knows what other factors, I can only imagine what would be seen if my brain were ever to be scanned. If anything, would look pretty sweet blown up and hung on my wall. Sorry for the rant, thank you for everything you do. You have been extremely impactful in my life and I am so grateful for you.

I love everything about this interview. Whenever I discuss mental illness with people, I refer to it as brain illness or a medical condition. My goal is to move past the stigma so we can focus on the facts. Being raised in a family plagued by brain illnesses, I’ve learned first hand how to overcome the challenges. Now, I’m working to break the cycle with my children. My youngest child suffers with brain illnesses that I suspect have been exacerbated by brain trauma due to sports. However, I’ve tried numerous avenues of getting his brain scanned so we can better treat his specific illnesses. Our insurance does not cover the scans, and none of the doctors we’ve seen will refer my son for scans. The fact is, most families can’t afford these scans. I’m determined to not let that stop me in my goal to help my son find wellness. But, I truly believe it is worth mentioning. I suspect thousands of other families are in the same position. We so desperately want to help our children, yet the “mental health” system is broken. In the meantime, I am pursuing everything and anything I can do to love my child’s brain, and teach him how to love his brain. Thanks for doing this interview.
