I sang Opera for 8 years when I was younger and they teach you posture and to tighten those pectoral muscles as tight as you can and keep your chest out and constantly put pressure on your abdomen when you're doing these notes it's very tough to control and it takes probably two to three years to get control over your stomach muscles even to this day I find myself standing tightening up my pics and I'm 60 years old now

How would a guy go about learning this range, please? I can sing Alto with ease, and kind of creep up into the Mezzo range as well- (both using Falsetto, and I've got videos on my channel to prove it- my highest Falsetto note's A5.) I've heard blokes sing in the Soprano range though, and I'd love to be able to do it, myself. I just don't know how at the minute. Please can I have some tips? Much obliged. Peace and love.
@orlando0988 жыл бұрын
You can't just 'learn' it. I've never heard a male singer who can sing coloratura soprano like this (most women can't either because their voices aren't as high as this). You naturally need suitable vocal chords for it, and going through male puberty won't help with that. Why not just enjoy the range you have, highness isn't everything.
@CockneyRebel19798 жыл бұрын
Actually, I can sing in the Alto range with ease, and I even dip into the Mezzo-soprano range on many songs. I perform a lot of female covers on here, as well as blokes' ones. I also sing in with the mid-range women in my choir, 'cos I prefer singing in Falsetto than what I do in full-voice. My highest Falsetto note is around G5 / A5, but Mezzo's as high as I can get though, and I've always wanted to be able to sing as a Soprano as well. I'm naturally a high Baritone.
@CockneyRebel19798 жыл бұрын
Having listened to this girl's range again though, I think I might have to be happy with being able to sing as a Mezzo- (after all, I guess there ain't even that many blokes who can do that!) o.o
@orlando0988 жыл бұрын
Cockney Rebel Yes, I know, you said. That's nice but not super unusual. But you can't just 'learn' to make your voice into a different range that you like the sound of, we are what we are. You can learn to support your sound better and make it blend better at the passage points, and maybe go a little higher or lower, but you probably can't go from being a male alto who can hit around a G or A to being a coloratura soprano who can hit notes almost an octave above. It's just nature... Maybe you can and have a freakishly unusual voice, but I would doubt it. It might be possible to learn to make small sounds that high in whistle tone, but you wouldn't be able to sing coloratura soprano arias and sound nice.

I disagree. This "Tactic" is, COULD, only be of any possible value for voices which have already been excellently developed for "undreamable" EFFORTLESSNESS, and, then, have developed their their range, "beyond phenomrnally", semitone by semitone, with more and more inconceivable, EFFORTLESSNESS!!!! Nevertheless, I will always be uncon- fortable "testing" for one's high notes for the day, or worse, just before an actual performance. This, WILL damage the Vocal Cords' ability to have, and keep, an EFFORTLESS, FRESH Tone Centerdness, and, LONG- LONG LASTING---- BEAUTY AND, HEALTH for ---- ANY---- Voice, especially, and, MERCIFULLY, for anyone who wants, deperately, to have a Great Voice, but, TEARFULLY, DOESN'T HAVE ONE!!!! For me effortlessness and extreme health and freshness ofbthe Vocal Cords themselves are EVERYTHING!

In the scales she went to a top G above high C - can you do that without sounding a little 'screechy'...?? Plus she's a coloratura soprano and they're meant to have a light, agile sound, not a big, full, rounded one, if that's what you mean by 'operatic'.

I know this is an old video but I actually use this video to help me with my legato and range. I'm confused with my vocal category as my range as of now is rather vast, however, I'm considering I'm a higher mezzo-soprano (Range F3-E6 with certain exercises can reach an F#6). I don't have a ton of flexibility in my voice as I grew up with a heavy rock background and now I'm in love with classical and this has helped my agility, flexibility, and I just love this video! Thank you!

I am new to *proper* singing. Been singing since I was little but only started to take it seriously when I got into college. I did choir for a short bit in college and was the only inexperienced one there. I was put in the soprano section. Here is my question. This girl is a soprano, but I have a hard time singing the lower register she's singing, and the high register she's singing feels natural and easy. So what the heck does that make me? O.O
@lemonarizonatea6 жыл бұрын
Honestly, that takes time, technique, and a good teacher. For the longest time I thought I was a soprano; I struggled with anything below a C4 (middle C on the piano or the C below the staff) and I could only vocalize up to a C6. I’ve discovered in just a few months with my professor at uni that I’m actually a mezzo-soprano. And now, after her help a lot of practice, she has me vocalizing from Ab3 (below the staff) to a secure F6 on a regular basis. I’ve still got a long way to go before I’d even consider singing a C6 (or higher) outside of a practice room, but it is amazing what you discover with the right teacher and a little work.

I have been studying voice for many years. She seems very sweet and has potential but, it might be good to work on your posture. I find it very interesting that she is singing with her natural voice instead of her head voice. That would explain the tendency to "screeching" on the higher notes and most of the slurred notes.
@HaoJingChangZai6 жыл бұрын
I think It's a blend but on the higher notes her support and position may still have room to improve.
