I dont get the hate for DC that Silva fight could have gone really bad for him if he stood up and went toe to toe. The change of opponent hurt DC because most of his training went out the window, so he did what he had to do to win which was wrestle, who would go toe to toe and try to bang with the greatest of all time. People keep using the fact that Brock landed more significant strikes as the reason for not thinking they did the exact same thing. Completely ignoring the fact that Hunt's defensive ground game was non-existent, whereas Silva had DC held in a defensive BJJ position to control DC's ability to strike effectively. If Hunt had the done the same thing, Brock wouldn't have landed as many either. Therefore Brock and DC did do the exact same thing, only their opponents made the outcome different.

Cormier's performance was disgraceful. Guy had a full training camp and he couldn't finish someone who took the fight on only 2 days notice. His approach to the fight was very negative. It looked like he had no intentions on throwing a punch. He didn't do very much damage on the ground either. He barely won that fight. I was hoping for at least a draw. Definitely wasn't a convincing performance and for damn sure not a performance worthy of a champion.

Brock didn't do close to what DC did. Brock went for a submission, he landed strong ground and pound, he got the mount, and tried to finish the fight. He even had better take downs. DC has stood up with plenty of fighters before. He has also done a hell of a lot better on the ground. It just looked like he was content with holding Anderson down, and throwing lousy shots at the hope the ref wouldn't stand them back up.

This man's fight with Alexander Gufstasson was voted the second best fight of 2015 under Rory Macdonald vs Robbie Lawler. He had a very exciting fight with Anthony Johnson. When you're given two days notice to fight Anderson Silva, you better not try to stand with him. It would take an entire training camp dedicated to learning his timing, reactions and style; he's too unique of a puzzle. DC is an Olympic wrestler. He stuck to what got him here. This fight would've been very entertaining with better circumstances, which brings me to my next point. Blame Jon Jones for putting these guys in this situation. Jones is the one yet again doing something he's not supposed to; he's the reason this fight was put under bad circumstances. Look at the bigger picture. Until then, go watch DC and Gus slug it out in a war. Thanks DC and Silva for stepping up in place of Jones's screwup. Jon Jones even refused to fight Chael Sonnen on short notice. Does anyone remember how boring UFC 151 was? Exactly.

Nothing much for DC to do in that fight, why take the risk to stand with the GOAT? He could have done more on the ground but people are ignoring how good Silva's defence is and was on his back, another thing people are ignoring is the mental aspect of it, DC was calling him the GOAT before and after the fight, on 2 days notice he couldn't have built up the confidence with no specific training to stand with Silva, that aura is still there and that fear that Silva could counter and KO you stiff is still there so of course DC did what he had to. The respect factor is also key because as good as Silva was defensively I doubt DC really wanted to cause real damage to someone he idolises at 41 when the fight could end in a better way.

+music guy it is what it is. If a fight is boring it is boring. Zingano vs Pena was fought on the ground. Was one hell of a fight. Lesner vs hunt was mostly on the ground. Lesner was trying to win by pounding the hell out of hunt. Hunt himself said later that he got his ass kicked by Brock. DC fought only not to loose. Thats why it was a boring fight. He himself said that he did what he had to do to not to loose to Silva. He achieved his goal for himself but got booed out of the octagon for his boring ass performance

yeah I think both fights stunk myself do and Brock they were just fill in's because Conor wouldn't fight then Jbj got caught they had to save the card but I thought it stunk the best fight was Thursday night main event between the woman's straw weight

The fact is that Daniel is beating all the contenders in his weight class. These are the same guys that Jones would have to beat if he was champ. So for people to say he's not legit is redonk. DC will go to the Hall of Fame as one of the greats with a couple more title defenses. That's a fact!!!!
