I disagree entirely, i think every Bond actor was very good in his Bond role. Connery was the OG. Lazeby had a completly different approach that was interessting. Moore was the suave spy who did not really enjoy all the action and killing and therefore a lot of his movies are very good spy movies. Dalton was phenomenal and for me the most truthfull to the Book Bond, which is no suprise since Dalton was a fan of the books. Brosnan started with an aboslute banger of a movie, made 2 good ones and one thats... kinda awfull and Craig did the same, he is a good Bond, but has 2 badly written movies on his resumee which taint his impact a bit. Nevertheless i loved all of the Bond actors and theire different approaches, i have no problem with the next "reboot" (if you can call it that anyway) being more of a spy movie and less of the action heist drama. The Bond franchise was always very well casted, which is especially true if you look at the original Q, M and Moneypenny who appeared in different Bond Versions.

same. The older movies didn't do it for me. liked somewhat pierce brosnan but as I got older I stopped liking him. I could only be jelous or inspired. I guess I'm a little of both.

His Bond is the only one to have any emotional depth it seems. The others are like caricatures, which is fine but in order to keep the franchise alive Bond needed to be made into a more dynamic character.

@@dotsanddash8083 Connery was charming but not a deep character, which is the case with the other Bonds as well. They're just personifications of charm or coolness whereas Craig's is more dynamic.

Layer Cake is how James Bond happened, there’s the scene in it where Colin Meaney is sitting down with xxxx character as he chooses a gun to perform an assignation of Jimmy Price, on selecting the specific one Craig proceeds to move around the apartment in a secret agent mimic ‘on the original dvds Meaney’s character references ‘ah, for fucksake, give him a gun and he thinks he’s James Bond’, those early dvds where withdrawn and replaced with an edited version removing that specific reference

Layer Cake is a wine......
@surindersingh7243 жыл бұрын
You've either made that up or are remembering incorrectly. I worked for Odeon Cinemas from 2001 to 2008 as a projectionist. Layer Cake was released in October 2004. Never mind DVDs, I watched the original cinema print of Layer Cake and there is no such reference to Bond in that scene. Meaney's (who plays Gene in the film) line when XXXX picks up the gun is "Ah for fucksake" followed by "Here, let me see if it's loaded". So unless you are suggesting they added the line for the DVD release and then recalled the DVDs to replace them with an edited version at high costs (Layer Cake had a relatively modest budget to begin with), then like I mentioned above, you are either mistaken or telling porkies.

Myself I started with the first Bond movie, "Dr. No" being chased by James Bond 007 in 1962, 7 years old, the Aston Martin high on my list for Xmas! Ever since I awaited eagerly the next Bond movie and with a few exceptions I was never disappointed. A nice side effect of all these movies is the fact that you get to see all the nice places on earth without, cueing, lifting your jacket, shoes, belt and not having to test for C-19.

One of the great thing about the new Bond was that it was made in a period when audiences got bore with high-tech gadgets and silly actions, and began appreciating the same character being in a more realistic world. Like Nolan's Batman, the new Bond focused on how the team was built, with M, Q, Moneypenny and Felix, the continuity between each movie made it look like one long series.
