I purchased in the US last week the 60th Anniversary Bond Seamaster direct from Omega. I had always planned to buy this watch the first time it crossed my path. It’s my first experience with a Milanese bracelet. I love the watch, no reservations. And so far I’m happy with the bracelet. It’s a different look, for me anyway. Watches can always be thinner but I couldn’t be happier with the watch itself.

I have some salt rock t shirts I buy for work here in the uk. 👍. I am with you on the omega sea master 300 . I have the blue pierce Brosnan blue dial. Which was my first ever luxury watch i bought about 12 years ago. And acquired the Peter Blake this year. Which has been on my list for some time. The Peter Blake is the best sea master version model of the 300 including all the new versions in my opinion. A killer watch. That most watch collectors with taste will own. But for me I like all the modern versions of the Rolex models. The bracelet is far superior over the 5 digit models. Which I also own. But I do think that the new 300 looks better without the date window. The new sea-master 300 much more blingy. And thicker. Thanks for the video.
@TheRandomWatchDude2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I like the Salt Rock shirts as they wash and wear very well over the years. Unless I get offered that white dialled Speedy soon, I will be getting a Submariner next I think, and am considering the 5 digit sub purely for the less blingy pre-ceramic, industrial aesthetic. I know the 6 digit subs are infinitely better in terms of build though.

Looks like it’s a 42 mm. Making smaller is nonsensical for a number of reasons. As for the Milanese, the bulk at the claps occurs when the strap is too long for your wrist. Try the shorter length. There is much less overlap and bulk in that case.

Craig's watch just looks like a steel NTTD, possibly retaining the ceramic bezel from the standard SMP300. It's also worth remembering that the milanese bracelet is available to buy separately, so it's not necessarily a special/limited edition. Speaking of which, my issue with that bracelet is the lack of micro adjust. I know folding clasps don't have this, but would think Omega could do something to help.

The milanese strap looks really pretty, but I do have to agree about the comfort. Especially the lack of micro adjustment. The regular Seamaster bracelet is amazing in comparison. Similar deal with Speedmaster to be honest - 2 micro adjustment positions and an ugly gap between the clasp when using the outer one. Pretty lazy for the prices they are charging. When it comes to the hands - please those alone! I love them! :D

I thought the watch looked smaller too , maybe a new 40mm case design? But then I went back and saw how small the white dial 42mm speedmaster looked on wrist and concluded that it’s just Daniel Craig and his massive wrists that made that SMP 300 look like a 40mm haha. Mate Partidge Jewelers in Auckland did the very same to me for the Titanium NTTD Seamaster Bond, 2 years later they couldn't get rid of them, they had 3 of them which just wouldn't 'move'. Silly NZ RRP (close to NZD 20k) pricing did have part in it admittedly, but still. I have since lost an appetite and purchased another watch. Also, patiently awaiting the new model Daniel Craig Seamaster showcased few weeks ago...no date, aluminum non-shiny bezel and likely ~40mm size...this will be a big seller.

@drazenbabich it's hard not to be cynical about the allocation of the Bond 60th. It was right at the peak of its acceptable price point when it was released. Then 18 months later it's gone over it's acceptable value, and the market isn't as crazy about it. I have little sympathy for PJ or Omega over this! Greedy! Pretty surprised about those milanese bracelet comments. I had the chance to wear this watch also last week and yes that claps is thick but the band was very comfortable. I was actually thinking it wouldn't be comfortable but it is more comfortable than the standard bracelet. I am probably buying it soon once I sell something else(probably my FXD). It looks and feels so much more premium than the standard bracelet and gives the whole watch an upgrade. the bond gimmick on the back of the watch didn't really do it for me. But ithat will not stop me from buying it. I agree about the pricing difference with the standard one is too high but that will also not stop me as I like the standard one so much I'm willing to pay the difference although it is to much. As for that black one I would think it is just a black version of this one without the bodn gimmick on the back but I have no info so just my idea of what it is.

I've always dreamed of owning an Omega Seamaster 300. Now that I finally have the money, I went to try on the 60th-anniversary model at the Omega store. Unfortunately, it's extremely heavy, and the mesh bracket is uncomfortable. I have a very slim wrist, around 5.8 inches. Even if a new model came out with a 40mm size, it wouldn't be practical for me because the standard bracelet is too heavy-almost 200g with the watch. The mesh bracelet is also very uncomfortable, and the NATO strap lacks style. It seems my best option might be to go for the new Aqua Terra 38mm in black.

You're 100% correct about the bracelet. I got mine and 1) had to get the shoeter bracelet (which Omega swapped, no charge) and 2) the clasp felt bulky and uncomfortable initially. However, after wearing it a full day the discomfort went away and I no longer noticed the bulk.
