I think the audience was really lazy that year. No one got a standing ovation. Maybe it had something to do with the writers strike; everything was austere and toned down. It's so amazing, astounding, how different Daniel Day Lewis is from the characters he plays. Some great actors often take something from themselves to embody a character. They pull something they can relate to. Daniel just becomes someone else. It's incredible. Such a beauty. Such a legend. We're all lucky to be able to watch him act!!

What a fantastic performance that was! He is the only one who won 3 Oscars in the best leading role category and without any arguments these 3 statues were absolutely well deserved! And in my opinion, he should have got the same rewards for any other films that he starred in other than this 3 films too.

DDL is one of the most prominent actors ever seen. After having seen Gangs Of New York, In The Name Of The Father and There Will Be Blood, which was bone-shattering to the core, I can say that the guy is haunting either in real life and in his portrayal of his characters he seems to merge with. All of the people who learned him how to act are the ones to praise. This man is a true gift for arts. If I see him one day, I would say "Thank you, M.Day Lewis, for defining what cinema is about: make us feel and make the characters real. Thank you so much for giving mesmerizing performances. Hope we'll see you in MORE movies!" Too bad he hasn't done much since Lincoln.

He is so humble and kind... yet, probably the best actor of our time (if not of all times). Daniel Day Lewis has won three Oscars and he truly has deserved all of them! There are other legendary actors (Al Pacino, Robert de Niro), but I would dare to put Daniel Day Lewis on top when it comes to acting. He is always different, and he IS always the person he plays! Unbelievable talent, never seen anything like him!
