It's a cool video but I hope your take away isn't that this is a good review. This is a very harsh test that in many ways comes down to luck. A good review is one where the rifle is shot and used as it was intended to be used in a variety of conditions with a lot of ammunition and preferably different types of optics with a variety of ammunition grain weights and case materials. It's even better if the rifle is shot suppressed and unsuppressed as that alone is a reasonable test that will result in the rifle getting extremely fouled very quickly and it exposes a lot of cheaper rifles. The AR15 was never designed to run while filled with sand and mud. No rifle on earth including the AKM is designed to run while filled with mud. I'm assuming that BCA was your first AR15 so good on you for getting an AR15. I hope eventually you like it enough to get something a bit nicer to train with. The gold standard is a BCM upper with an Aero lower but you could also just use your BCA lower and for that matter you could build your own upper if you wanted to. Cheaper guns could in some cases out perform more expensive guns just due to the gas port diameter alone. Daniel Defense was at one time notorious for being very overgassed because they drilled their gas ports to make the gun run perfectly with steel cased ammunition which is underpowered compared to brass case ammo. As a result with a suppressor or higher quality ammo the guns were very overgassed. Obviously over time enough people complained and now DD drills their gas ports to allow suppressor owners to tune the rifle to comfortably use a suppressor without getting an absurd amount of gas to the face.

@armorers_wrench I appreciate you taking the time to write all of this unfortunately 100% of your assumptions are incorrect. This IS intended to be an extreme test. To accelerate wear and tear as quickly as possible and to be entertaining over all. Very very few people have the money or time to spend thousands and thousands of rounds doing what your talking about let alone a small channel that makes ZERO profit.

The amount of oil is most likely to blame for the consistant stoppages. Dirt and grime sticks to it and creates a sort of coarse paste of some sort, that can't be easily rinced off with water since water and oil don't mix. So it always leaves at least a thin layer of this nasty substance on the parts. I haven't watched the other terture tests you've made, but if you ran other rifles dry, that might be why you've seen a difference in reliability. Tight tolerances aren't a bad assumption either. Good video m8!

We've talked about doing an AK before I was considering getting in touch with PSA I have a feeling though the AK won't last long just because it's so open to the environment I know they have a great reputation in Middle Eastern countries but those things run so loose

@@independencearmschannel2170 If you're gonna do an AK don't waste your time with a PSA. Do a true AKM and as far as I know the only AKM sold on the market in the US right now built to the technical data package is the WASR10 which actually can be found RELATIVELY cheaply. I think you could get one for $800ish with the cheap plastic furniture.

The real torture test would be training with the bc and PSA and Dd ten thousand rounds each at a real rifle training course and see which one comes out on top! Also deliberately destroying a firearm and wondering why it doesn’t work is just plain stupid.

I'd say maybe you should send him the ammo. Bet he would do your idiotic view of a torture test if you did. Do you know what 10k 5.56 would cost? Dude wouldn't even make the money back on that from the video WHILE destroying a gun on top of it. Better yet start your own channel and do your own 10k round "torture test" that rest of us call just shooting your guns regularly. Then you can loose out on the money you spent on ammo instead.

@@independencearmschannel2170 Still more than you spent on the PSA. I must say that I wouldn't be able to drive myself to put my Daniel Defense through that kind of torture test. In that sort of torture test any AR should fair similarly; what separates a Daniel Defense from many lower end AR-15s is how long it will last under high rates of fire and yes, how much it takes to offset the rail, but it should be expected for any AR platform to fail under this kind of punishment. We must remember that this is a sample of one and the next DD might have faired better or the next PSA or BCA might have failed sooner. I have to say though that I really did enjoy watching how severe of punishment this platform can handle while still being able to function, particularly when you take the other two ARs you put through this same amount of punishment into account. Thanks for putting your own money at stake to make these videos.

@T20-c8f2 ай бұрын
Argh, that sucks. Feel better bro. I had a similar screw up in July. I stripped a screw on my badger ordnance condition one mount that was holding my nightforce nx8 2.5-20. I was taking it apart to install the ARC cap and my Steiner MPS I had just got for my bday. It took 2 days with a drill and dremel, I scratched the hell out of my scope but I got the ring off. I wasn’t even excited for a few weeks there after until I went to the range and sighted it in. Worst part is I think I need to send the scope to nightforce because the reticle seems off to me and blurry on the left hand side/uncentered 😢. @@T20-c8f Hey bud midway USA sells a screw extractor kit. Basically you drill the screw a bit then run the extractor bit in it and it should screw out. I had to use one on a broken screw in a machined Glock slide because I overtorqued a screw when installing an optic. The kit was like $20 and it includes a variety of drill bit diameters/extractor diameters. Get that kit and a torque wrench. The torque wrench will make it so you don't break screws. The extractor kit is insurance.

@@knifetech101 Read the comment I just wrote to that t20-c8f guy--tldr midway usa sells broken screw extractor kits and they're a lot easier to use than what you did and won't damage anything other than the broken screw.
